Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem (1/2)
- Hezbollah believes in resistance for two reasons. The first is my faith, that the land must be liberated, and the second is my national reason, that our land is occupied.
- Resistance is a response to the occupation, and it becomes necessary in the event that the Lebanese state is unable to protect the land and its citizens on its own.
- The advantage of the resistance in Lebanon is that it began with significant and influential achievements and continued to achieve them over 40 years.
- The occupation would not have left without the resistance.
- It should not be said to the resistance, "You have sacrificed too much and had many martyrs," but rather, it should be asked how this resistance, despite the massive israeli, American, and international attack, managed to stop them at the southern borders.
- Israel no longer has a pretext after the agreement, yet it continues to attack daily, to the point where its attacks have reached 2,700.
- The battle ended, and the youth remained on the front lines, preventing israel from advancing, which pushed it toward accepting the agreement.
- Israel wants to neutralize Lebanon's strength by pushing for the disarmament of the resistance.
- Israel is expansionist and seeks to control Lebanon, in the past, we prevented it from achieving its plans.
- Israel wants to occupy the largest part of Lebanon to annex it to occupied Palestine and establish settlements on Lebanese territory. It also wants to use Lebanon to settle Palestinians.
- Are you asking us to become so powerless that it allows israel to enter all of Lebanon? That will never happen.
- Who said we would remain patient with israel long enough for it to achieve even a small part of its objectives?
- We do not base our actions on losses and gains; we base them on stance, and our stance is resistance and liberation — there is no surrender.
- We have options, and we fear nothing. If you want to test it, go ahead, no one can ever defeat us.
- We used to hear that the resistance's weapons were disrupting the state, and the problem with weapons is that they prevent the building of the state. We ask them: Who contributed to the election of the president, the Lebanese government, and so on?
- The resistance’s weapons are exclusively tied to confronting the israeli enemy.
- The primary issue in Lebanon is not the resistance’s weapons but the expulsion of the israeli occupation.
- We confront the occupation with the strength of our position, national unity, the building of the army, and the preparedness of the resistance. We have not and will not surrender.
