Same Strategy - A property/business is closed, left to stand empty with no upkeep. Then it's announced to convert to residential which will conveniently be the ONLY viable use.
Note the comment on the article:
"Just what the West End needs more flats NOT, it’s already a HMO ghetto without adding more..."
It's perfectly clear they're trying to pack as many residential units as possible into the area, but no new jobs or businesses.
"The proposals seek to retain all historic features of the building and are the least required in order to secure the sustainable long-term use and thus preservation of the building.”
As you can see once again, the building will look pretty which somehow justifies conversion to residential.
But once converted to residential, it will no longer be accessible to the general public. So who is this being preserved for exactly???

So while everything Vital is being cut, things like Eco Projects are allowed to go ahead with YOUR Taxpayers Money 😡
I mean, were we really ever surprised? They've always got money for their so called GREEN Projects but anything and everything else has to be cut to accommodate them.

It's curious isn't it. Back in 2002 it was claimed Eco Tourism was the way forward. Yet the general public were not asking for Eco Tourism.
What were people asking for?
Traditional and fun attractions such as:
- an Ice Skating Rink (this was asked for for many years).
- a sea life centre or aquarium.
- tradition fun fairs
- piers
- indoor/undercover swimming pool
- park/recreation leisure and attractions
- paddling pools for kids
- a return of the illuminations as they originally were (not the tiny display we eventually got)
- a boating marina
If you asked for them there was always some excuse as to why not; such as:
- these attractions are unviable
- we can't afford them
- tastes change, people want different things
- we don't want to compete with other places/resorts
- WE want the town to be different and offer completely different things
- WE want the town just to be a clean & relaxing nice place to live (residential)
Yet, with their Eco Tourism the rules & restrictions conveniently don't apply...

They're Spinning New Narratives Regarding Digital Cash

Firstly they're trying to put forward that it's mostly the elderly and disabled that want to keep physical cash.
Sort of creating a divide (Divide & Conquer), between the elderly + the disabled, and the rest of the population.
Implying the majority of the rest of the population are in favour and seeing it as a natural progression.
___
Secondly the county councillor featured is trying to make out he's one of us, one of the people (an ordinary consumer) and thus seeing no value in normal physical banking.
Thereby implying that normal people do not support physical means to access or use cash.
The reality though is he's simply promoting government propaganda that digital cash/money/banking is to be seen as the new normal.

Cashless Society as the ONLY solution 😡
This all sounds very convenient.
All those machines all hit. Why now... Why at a time that the government want to force a Cashless Society...
And their ONLY solution is to go Cashless 😒

Cash payments will be suspended in many local car parks after a string of thefts and damage to pay and display machines.
Lancaster City Council has announced it will temporarily remove cash payments from most of its car parks after 10 machines were damaged in car parks across Lancaster and Morecambe since the end of August, including four in the last week.
On each occasion the cash boxes attached to the machines were cut open and the coins removed.

How likely is this during their drive to make everyone go Cashless? So if you want to park in Morecambe or Lancaster you'll be forced to pay Cashless.
___
To prevent any more machines being damaged while the police investigate the thefts, the council has taken the decision to remove the coin boxes from all of its machines except at St Nics Arcades car park in Lancaster, which is locked overnight.
___
The council took the decision. But they didn't ask us did they...
They took the decision that will affect ALL our lives and how we pay for services.
Notice how it was the ONLY solution to the issue.

Customers are instead being asked to pay by card or via the RingGo system.
Councillor Jean Parr, cabinet member with responsibility for planning and placemaking, said: “We know that this decision will be disappointing for those who like to pay by cash, but we have no other option..."

It's called Bait and Switch. They tell you what you want to hear so you don't object. Then they suddenly announce an element you were not informed of at the beginning.
Oh they'll tell you it'll all be high quality and will improve your standard of living. But you won't own it. You'll be forever renting and relying on the Government to house you.
As long, of course, that you toe the line and never bad mouth the narrative in any way.
