🇫🇷🤝⚖️ French ambassador in Romania, Nicolas Warnery, met with the president of the Constitutional Court (CCR), Marian Enache, to "talk about rule of law and judicial cooperation".
During this discussion, Enache reiterated the CCR's "commitment" to democracy and rule of law while Warnery reiterated France's support to the CCR.
📝: And there you have it! France supports the December 6th coup d'etat and will do it again if it has to this May.
Macron wants to deploy French troops to Ukraine and a Georgescu presidency will derail his plans completely. A Georgescu presidency would most definitely not allow Romania to be a staging ground for French troops in Ukraine.

🌹❌🟦 Ex-premier and president of PSD, Victor Ponta, lambasted the current acting-president of PNL and minister of internal affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, for being a “ball boy” for the deep state!
📝: Victor Ponta is much more representative for the line of thought inside social-democratic circles than Marcel Ciolacu is. No true social-democrat believes in Crin Antonescu and they would much rather vote for Ponta who is a lifelong social democrat compared to Antonescu who never was a member of the social democratic party.

“Romania needs a radical change because that’s what the people want and that’s what is in our national interests (…)
This willingness for change will win regardless of the system’s desires and their acolytes. I am not intimidated by the puppets in charge in PNL, placed there by the corrupt system. (…)
Cătălin Predoiu always was the ball boy for the system, the loyal servant of Băsescu and Johannis, a turncoat for the PDL (Liberal Democratic Party) and then for the National Liberal Party whenever he received an order, always ready to carry out the will of the globalists and sorosists in Romania and outside. He is the “tool” with which they are trying to prevent Călin Georgescu and Diana Șoșoacă from running for president because that is the only way they can continue the “Johannis regime”, with Antonescu, with Nicușor and with Predoiu.
All of their efforts are against Romania and that is why they will lose”.

🇪🇺🔫🔫🔫 Ursula von der Leyen presented the EU rearmament plan and spoke about aid to Kiev. The head of the European Commission proposes:
🔶 increase defense spending by 1.5% to raise 650 billion euros for weapons production.
🔶 attract 150 billion euros in loans for the production of air defense systems and weapons for Ukraine.
🔶 create a new instrument that will significantly speed up and increase military assistance to Kyiv.
The European Commission's overall plan for rearmament could cost the EU €800 billion.

🌹🟦🇭🇺❌⚖️ Candidate for president supported by PNL, PSD (officially) and UDMR, Crin Antonescu, says he wants to turn the National Supreme Defense Council (CSAT) into a prosecutor and investigate corruption!
Talking to a young woman on the street, Antonescu tried to explain to her how corruption "represents a national security threat" to Romania and that CSAT should have legal prerogatives to tackle corruption. Antonescu mentions that in a 2019 ruling, the Constitutional Court forbid the CSAT from investigating corruption but he added that he believes the CCR "has changed its mind" since the last elections on corruption.
To translate, Crin Antonescu wants to declare corruption a "national emergency" and have the president, prime-minister and the directors of the intel agencies form a taskforce and tackle corruption. Crin Antonescu wants to bring the intel agencies back into criminal investigations and return to the era between 2005 and 2016.
Let's recap: in late 2004, Traian Băsescu wins the elections promising to eradicate corruption. The first thing he does in office was to decree corruption as a "national security threat" creating the premises for the secret protocols of the police state in which trials were judged not based on evidence but based on the wiretapping done by the Romanian Information Service (SRI), and they couldn't be contested, not even regarding the actual factuality of the recording. This was never done legally because it would have never passed a vote in Parliament, it was done through CSAT decisions, CSAT not having attributes in this topic, but the attributes were extended by the Băsescu regime.
In 2019, after Băsescu, his main executioner, former chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), Laura-Codruța Kovesi (now head of the European Public Prosecutor's Office), and SRI general, Florian Coldea, withdrew from politics or moved on to other jobs, the CCR ruled that corruption was not an emergency.
The CCR's president at the time, Daniel Morar, one of the most appreciated and respected prosecutors in Romania (he also led the DNA), explained separately that, from a legal POV, corruption cannot be a "threat to national security" because Romanian penal law doesn't view it that way, pointing towards the fact that corruption is not included in the chapter of the penal code about crimes against national security and pointed out that CSAT decisions are inapplicable to him because, as a judge, the law protects him and because CSAT decisions are classified, being declassified in rare instances.
Daniel Morar during his time at the CCR, issued a number of important rulings which served to destroy the police state created by Băsescu, but which really continued to exist even after the December 1989 Revolution. It is important to remember that, Marian Enache, was appointed judge in the CCR back in 2016 meaning that Enache actually supported these rulings when they came out in 2016, 2019, but now his opinion has changed apparently.
Now, Crin Antonescu says that the CCR "has changed its opinion" and that it agrees with him (Antonescu being the face of the deep state) that corruption is a national security threat. Antonescu wants to recreate the secret protocols between the SRI and the DNA and every other special investigation body where those in power can bully the opposition and lock them up based on what all judges would normally consider ”inadmissible evidence”.
Marian Enache served his purpose, he has two months left until his term as judge ends and he will be left to retire. Remains to be seen who will take his place and two other judges who will be retiring with him.

🇷🇴🎙⚡️ Călin Georgescu held an interview with a popular journalist from Moldova, Natalia Morari. Here are the most important takeaways:
🔶 Georgescu thinks everything that happened after the December 6th coup d'etat was worth it because it unravelled the corruption in Romania. He views the democratic regime after the December 1989 Revolution as a "continuation" of the communist regime.
🔶 He denies the existence of Russian collusion saying that there is no proof but lambasts the EU, Moldova and the Biden administration for interfering in the Romanian presidential elections
🔶 He is campaigning for president in the Republic of Moldova. The fact that he chose Natalia Morari to give an interview with was a good hint, but several times throughout the interview he mentions the so-called "Moldovan people" which I've had rants about before. The Romanian citizens in Moldova are a significant pool to draw additional votes from and Georgescu is trying to appeal to those who hate PAS and vote for PSRM, MAN, PCRM and other pro-neutrality, pro-Moldovan statehood parties. Although he called them the "Moldovan people" he also refers to them as "our brothers beyond the Prut river"
🔶 Georgescu says Moldova with Maia Sandu is more isolated than ever from Romania and the US. He praises the US for uncovering the money laundering ring of Vladimir Plahotniuc, Veaceslav Platon and Ilan Shor in 2014.
🔶 Georgescu says "now its not a good time for Romania and Moldova to unite" because there isn't a clear majority in favor of union with Romania! He adds that Moldova should be more economically developed before uniting with Romania
🔶 After saying "Moldovan people" thrice, he then says that there's no such thing as the "Moldovan language" telling Morari that they are both speaking Romanian, not Moldovan. Adding to his previous statement, he reiterates that reunification isn't a subject Moldovans are ready for and Romania should wait for that he believes.
🔶 "Multipolarity is a reality which cannot be ignored any longer (...) the best ally Romania has is the United States and it will continue"
🔶 Romania needs to rely more on itself and use locally produced goods and groceries. He will evaluate projects and prioritise investments which make Romania less independent on imports. Romania should nationalise certain parts of the economy so that it regains control over some key resources
🔶 Romania has been a part of Europe before Brussels (EU) was a thing, it was a part of Europe thanks to its culture and civilisation said Georgescu. He also claimed that Romania "enriched" the EU but says that the EU is trying to erase Romanian identity with cancel culture and "woke ideology"
🔶 Under Georgescu, Romania will not be interested anymore in EU funds! He says that Romania has everything it needs to be self-sufficient. "The independence of a country is its capacity to finance herself and not rely on foreign support".
🔶 "During the times of St. Stephen the Great of Moldavia, the Ottomans would invade and pillage your country. Now its the EU doing the pillaging".
🔶 Georgescu says that foreign minister, Emil Hurezeanu, does not represent Romania!
🔶 Georgescu says that his grand plan is to make Romania the powerhouse of Europe and replace Germany in this aspect! Says that, besides autarchy, collaborating with everyone is key for this plan to come to fruition.
🔶 He is not worried about being excluded from the presidential campaign. He then says: "But what if I don't agree with their decision? [if they exclude him]"
🔶 Georgescu believes the US will sanction Romania if the elections are cancelled again or held improperly

🌹🗳⚡️ Backstab? Victor Ponta says that if he was elected, he would ask Marcel Ciolacu to resign from his post!
Ponta said that if elected president he would want a new government formed by “professionals” but he doesn’t see a place for Marcel Ciolacu in that “professional” government.
Ponta added that he would accept ministers as long as they are professional from any political party, including the so-called “extremist” ones.
Let us recall that Marcel Ciolacu refused to kick out Victor Ponta from PSD after he announced he will be running for president, he refused to kick out Ponta even though he refused to back Crin Antonescu, something’s against the results of PSD’s general congress which are binding for all members and continued to protect him afterwards despite increasing pressure from Antonescu and Cătălin Predoiu who want Ponta out of PSD as they fear he will sabotage Crin Antonescu’s campaign.
Now Ponta basically says he will end Marcel Ciolacu’s political career if he gets elected president. Will this be the straw that broke the camel’s back?

🟨🤪⚡️ Moldova will destroy Putin's regime, Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu believes
It will happen like this: Moldova country will become so democratic that Russians will start to envy it and they will rise up and overthrow Vladimir Putin.
📝: Romania is the only country in the region that can provide the necessary security financial support for Moldova and the regime in charge of Moldova spent the last 4 years campaigning against unionism while fearmongering a Russian invasion while their plan to avoid that was to become a “model country” which the Russians will “envy”.
Even though its against my interests to see PAS losing the elections, getting rid of Igor Grosu and his clique makes it worth the setback.

☦️☦️☦️ The Prison Saints were political prisoners, Orthodox Christians who went through the communist regime's "re-education" programs in several prisons in post-war Romania. These programs were intended to convince the prisoners to declare themselves "re-educated" and renounce their belief in Christ.
Despite the horrors the prisoners went through (both physical and psychological torture, starvation, eating excrement, etc.), many died without renouncing their faith or their anti-communist beliefs.
There is a commemorative march in Bucharest on Sunday, March 9th, at 19:00 hours for anyone that is nearby

🇪🇺🇷🇺🇺🇸 — 🇷🇴📰 InPolitics | Brussels under pressure! Călin Georgescu has the backing of two global superpowers, the two that matter!
@Wallachian_Gazette
"The SVR's analysis that the charging of Călin Georgescu came at Brussels' order is more than a metaphorical bomb. The analysis is not meant for the prosecutor on the case, Marius Iacob, not for the prosecutor general, Alex Florența, not for the interim-president, Ilie Bolojan, not for the premier Marcel Ciolacu or the minister of internal affairs, Cătălin Predoiu.
The analysis is meant for Brussels and Ursula von der Leyen! The SVR potentially has evidence to back up their claims meaning that this isn't an opinion anymore but a warning. It is obvious, after all, that Brussels wants to install a progressist-sorosist president in Romania instead of a sovereignist-trumpist
The same way the SMS between Ursula and the CEO of Pfizer, the conversations held behind seven sets of locks, represent the evidence of the great deal of the pandemic to the benefit of the Americans using Europe's money. Someone has those conversations but it is keeping them secret. When the pandemic was dying down, other European authorities were beginning to press Ursula on the vaccine deal. The European Parliament was demanding a hearing on this matter but just as the COVID-19 vaccine deal was becoming more mainstream, let's remember how the Qatargate scandal popped up and, suddenly, the European Parliament lost interest in questioning Ursula.
The U.S., led by Joe Biden at the time, has recorded every transaction and knows who received money from whom. Qatargate was a warning from Washington: "don't get near our partner", and they never dared to make Ursula uncomfortable again and they voted Ursula for a 2nd term.
It is evident that the SVR's analysis will be interpreted by the adversaries of Călin Georgescu as an endorsement from Russia. Perhaps Russia finds him more convenient in Romania than the alternatives. Georgescu's enemies should be focused on something else though: endorsements come not just from Russia but also the US, the US who supports him and denounces the December 6th coup d'etat.
This is dangerous for them because, by the looks of it, Russia and the US are about to enter a love-tandem, and they are denouncing the coup d'etat meanwhile the pseudo-power called "the EU", who is attacking Georgescu, is in free fall and with the EU falling so will the sorosists. It is no wonder that Georgescu is attacking the EU more often and harsher. He noticed weakness in the EU or someone told him that he has his back covered.
Washington and Moscow are aligning behind Georgescu and this is the source of his confidence and relaxed nature, usually defiant in the face of Romanian authorities. We were writing recently that it would be a catastrophe if the May elections would not be recognised by the US. How would it be if neither Russia or other allies, like Hungary and Slovakia, not recognise the results?
The regime in Bucharest is playing dangerously with fire but some of their behaviour leads one to believe that they are simulating a witch hunt to please Brussels because we cannot find a serious explanation for Georgescu's charges and the evidence brought against him which is pathetic".

🇷🇴🗳⚡️— 🇩🇪📰 Tichys Einblick | Does Romania want to protect democracy from its own people?
@Wallachian_Gazette
“Last Saturday Georgescu stood before tens of thousands of voters and told them: “we will take our country back”. He is running for president again and since November a lot has changed; He isn’t polled with 23% anymore but with 37-38%. Although polls have their problems his popularity is undeniable. In addition, polls show very few undecided voters and a large desire to vote. There’s only one consolation: Georgescu has a smaller chance to win more votes in the 2nd round than his rivals in the traditional parties.
His popularity growing after the previous failed elections means that the reasoning given by the CCR is flawed. They mentioned Russian collusion with an illegal campaign on TikTok but that TikTok campaign mentioned by the intel agency was proven to have been paid for by the ruling National Liberal Party (PNL)
In any case, what worked then will not work now as new rules make it harder for someone to emulate what Georgescu did. Yet, this might not be needed as Georgescu is even more popular. His secret to succes must lay elsewhere. He collected 200k signatures for president in a very short amount of time.
The cops didn’t took long to show up. They accused him of 6 different crimes. He was arrested by a big group of cops and with media crews around him and they dragged him for questioning even though he would have not tried to run away and would have come for questioning willingly.
His charges look like they have been made for someone the likes of Hitler and Mussolini besides the charge of being a puppet of the Russians. It is said that he founded an antisemitic organisation, that he glorified war criminals and genocides and had fascist, racist or xenophobic opinions. He allegedly falsified documents related to his electoral campaign and spread fake news. Most importantly, it is alleged he committed acts meant to overthrow the constitution. All of this means many years in prison and/or being disqualified from running for president, the latter being the real purpose behind these charges.
Let’s remember that the Electoral Bureau validated Georgescu when he first submitted his candidacy, a 2nd time after the 1st round, the latter being confirmed by the CCR. Perhaps coincidentally we recently found out about Toni Greblă’s corruption allegations right when they were charging Georgescu and the Parliament revoked Greblă’s mandate the same week the allegations were made public (…)
Could this all be a ploy to make Georgescu a martyr and have him win? A Hungarian political scientist, Zsolt Pászkán asks if the incredibly incompetent approach of the Romanian authorities regarding the elections has this specific purpose.
President of the Covasna County Council, Sándor Tamás believes there is a power struggle between all six intel agencies. It is known that Georgescu has a past with the pro-Russian side of the intel agencies.
The pro-Russian side was marginalised by Ceaușescu in the 1970s and as a revenge, with the support of Gorbachev they overthrew him in 1989. They installed Ion Iliescu and initiated a series of reforms but they became more and more irrelevant as Romania took a pro-Western path.
Sándor Tamás believes this group of intel officers are plotting revenge. Georgescu has laid claim to Ukrainian land. The question is who is ruling Romania right now? According to Tamás it certainly isn’t the government. He likens Romania to Italy in the 1970s and 1980s when the mafia was at its peak.
To conclude, Tamás believes that in Romania there is a power struggle between intel agencies and a power struggle between the great powers, Russia, the EU, the US. A recent turn of events threw everything off the rails, last December the US intervened discretely to have the elections cancelled, but now that Trump is in power, his ally, Musk, is rooting for Georgescu. This makes sense only if Trump wants to weaken the EU more than he wants to weaken Russia”.

⬜️⚠️🌐 Save Romania Union (USR) representatives told the Organisation for Security & Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) that the upcoming presidential elections in Romania continue to be at risk of being manipulated!
USR told the OSCE that Romania has no effective mechanism to detect illegal financing and stop foreign interference 3 months after the last elections were cancelled warning that the May elections may be cancelled again.

⬜️❌🇷🇺Mayor of Bucharest and candidate for president, Nicușor Dan, on X (Twitter):
🔗 Nicușor Dan
“The SVR released a statement today which attacks Romanian prosecutors who are investigating Călin Georgescu. This is the first public act of Russian interference in our elections and it should ring an alarm bell for our country, our leaders and the Romanian people.
Look how in just a few months, those who organised the elections and those that manipulated them brought us to a critical moment for our freedom, prosperity and our democracy.
Romania needs a new course and a president legitimised through voting, a responsible president that is loyal to European values (…)”.

🇷🇴⚖️⚡️ New week, another coup d’etat “foiled” by authorities
6 people including retired Maj-Gen. Radu Theodoru, a WW2 vet, who is 101 years old, had their homes searched in a case alleging high treason!
DIICOT prosecutors say the suspects had military training, they wanted to overthrow the government, dissolve all political parties and install themselves dictators, change the national flag, change the national anthem, change the official name of the country, fire all employees of public institutions, adopt a new constitution and that they requested technical support from Russia to do so.
Prosecutors claim that the 6 people had “constituted an organised crime group” since 2023 with the purpose of “destroying Romanian sovereignty”. They say that the group recruited members online with video materials and some traveled to Moscow where they, allegedly, talked to “important” Russian officials.

🇷🇴🇪🇺❌🌐 A deeper look at the new "misinformation bill" based on the EU DSA, prepared by lawmakers set to take effect on March 25th:
🔶 Vague Definitions (Art. 3, 4): Broad, unclear terms like "illegal content" (e.g., "hate speech," "manipulation") and "inauthentic behavior" lack precise criteria, risking arbitrary enforcement.
🔶 Procedural Gaps (Art. 5-7, 10): Immediate content blocking in "urgent" cases (undefined) and vague inter-agency roles lack safeguards or clear processes, enabling abuse.
🔶 Rights Violations: Freedom of Expression (Art. 30): Content removal without judicial oversight (Art. 6, 10) violates anti-censorship rules.
🔶 Right to Information (Art. 31): Blocking access (Art. 10) limits public info without transparency.
🔶 Fair Trial (Art. 21): Non-suspendable decisions (Art. 9(2)) and tight contestation deadlines restrict recourse.
🔶 Disproportionate Measures: Harsh penalties for social media platforms and providers (Art. 14, 50,000-100,000 RON/day) and domain blocking (Art. 10) exceed necessity, lacking evidence of milder alternatives’ inadequacy.
🔶 Censorship Risks: ANCOM’s extensive powers (Art. 5, 6, 10), short compliance deadlines (Art. 13), and no public oversight (Art. 16) could centralize control and suppress dissent.
Meanwhile, the party pretending to be in opposition to the current government, USR, initiated today an even more harrowing bill on online censorship:

🇺🇸❌🇲🇩 US president, Donald Trump, mentioned Moldova in his state of the nation address!
He yet again decried the Joe Biden’s Administration’s waste of public funds, talking about USAID’s external aid programs and Trump gave a bunch of examples, among which was Moldova.
The aid he mentioned was a certain 32 million USD grant for the promotion of liberal-progressivist values in the country.

🇷🇴⚖️⚡️ PMC boss, Horațiu Potra and two of his close relatives are believed to be hiding in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates from Romanian authorities who issued a preventive arrest warrant.
The incredibly ignoble and ignorant Romanian press is focused on the investigation into Horațiu Potra’s private military contractors (PMCs) whom they allege were preparing to overthrow the Romanian government.
The real questions they should be asking are:
🔶 How come, Romania, a member of the EU and NATO, didn’t punish Potra before for his PMC operations in Africa who could not have gone unnoticed by the intel agencies?
🔶 What does Romania gain from turning a blind eye to PMC operations?
I remind my readers that Romania is a signatory (although it never ratified) the 2001 UN Mercenary Convention which says that any person who recruits, uses, finances or trains mercenaries, as defined in article 1 of the present Convention, commits an offence for the purposes of the Convention.
The presence of Romanian mercenaries was not rumoured to be just in Africa, but also in Ukraine fighting against Russia. The Russian ministry of foreign affairs had accused Romania dozens of times of sending or at the very least, turning a blind eye to Ukraine recruiting mercenaries to fight for its side. Although only the presence in Africa was confirmed, considering that Bucharest classified all aid it sent to Kiev, at the end of the day, who knows?
Being a mercenary is a risky business. Even under UN and international law, a mercenary is not considered a “lawful combatant and prisoner of war” and he may be killed in captivity or not taken prisoner at all by the other side as even under international law there are no sanctions for the party which captures the other side’s mercenaries. The fact that Potra’s 288 mercenaries who were captured by the March 23 Movement in Goma, were not killed or beaten or humiliated in some other way, is a rather rare instance of good will from the M23 rebels and the Rwandan government, perhaps the only thing that saved them was the fact that Potra’s PMCs weren’t tasked with any combat missions instead being hired to train and guard certain points of interests.
In any case, it is no secret that Potra recruited PMCs from active-duty soldiers, gendarmes, policemen and firefighters. Although the Romanian MoD denied the claims of its soldiers taking unpaid leave to go to the DRC for PMC work, last time we checked they were also trying to figure out if they actually had active-duty soldiers who did exactly what was claimed. The ministry of internal affairs though, didn’t say a thing.
In 2007 a group of MPs initiated a law which wanted incriminate mercenary work with up to 25 years in prison, assimilating mercenaries with terrorists. The sanctions were applicable also for Romanian companies that could have gotten away if they hired foreign nationals for mercenary work. Even though that was a law demanded by the UN, NATO, the EU and got the necessary approvals from the government and parliamentary commissions, with the exception of the defense commission led by former MP, Mihai Stănișoară, the law was rejected by Parliament.
Since then, no one has tried to incriminate PMC companies and we can’t find a reason as to why? And now, politicians in Bucharest are pretending to be “horrified” of these PMCs suddenly “wanting to overthrow” them and take the power for themselves after they were deliberately let off the hook.

🇪🇺🔫🔫🔫 Ursula von der Leyen's rearmament scheme is a repeat of the COVID-19 vaccine scheme!
Her 800 billion EURs fund for rearmament is built exactly like the COVID-19 vaccine fund where all member countries contribute with money meanwhile Ursula does the negotiating with the defense companies.
While there is potential for this plan to represent a gold mine for the Romanian defense industry and see ROMARM receive hundreds of orders from all EU member states, knowing Ursula and how she negotiated the Pfizer vaccine purchases on What's App without telling anyone what she promised, what were the criteria for the vaccines, it looks very much like she is again acting as a lobbyist, this time for the German defense industry.
Von der Leyen right now wants to borrow 150 billion EURs in the name of all EU member states. Romania will have to add to its national debt ~7 billion EURs thanks to this rearmament loan for which it will have to buy whatever Rheinmetall A.G.'s catalogue is.
