Residents of the aboriginal crime-ravaged town of Moree are planning a protest march after a man was allegedly struck and killed by three teenagers in a stolen car.

One had a 38-page criminal record including 90 bail breaches.

Another had recently been charged with car theft, and was refused police bail, and refused bail in the local court, only for Supreme Court Justice Dina Yehia, a left-wing Egyptian immigrant and indigenous advocate, to step in and let him out of custody.

The Northern Territory's anti-discrimination commissioner is supporting calls for an independent review into systemic racism in the NT Police Force.

Aboriginal land councils have criticised the findings of an Independent Commissioner Against Corruption and NT Police investigation which found no evidence of racist behaviour in the force since 2015.

They are determined to prove that deaths in custody and high incarceration rates are the result of racist corruption, rather than the more obvious conclusion, which is, Aboriginal people commit more crime per-capita.
