"You can’t understand the idea of a liberator who braves reincarnation without understanding liberation.
The bodhisattva isn’t just a heroic dharma warrior.

They are enlightened first and foremost. Their ethos in the world is the vehicle for the truth’s transition.

If they’re looked at as paragons of a certain quality, and not the enlightening, then they’re being looked at arguably for the wrong reasons.
A bodhisattva of compassion is the bodhisattva of compassion not because compassion is inherently worthwhile, but because it is an excellent vehicle for attaining enlightenment in the appropriate application."

- Unimatic Musings

They can be warriors but are beyond that.
They are Apotheosis embodied in a non-general Buddhist way or viewing it.

This is what libtard and western so-called Buddhists don't get.

The whole compassion = alturism is false.
Karmic compassion and Upaya may mean I am harsh with you or do something that will help you / others awaken for the karmic good
That may be violence.
To slay adharma and become a dharmapala, one must first understand the source of and attraction of its imbalance. Then, they must seek balance and overcome via tantra it to see how to destroy it and purify it using it as fuel for the holy fires.

“Now, it is the conquest by the Dharma that the Beloved of the Gods considers as the best conquest. And this one (the conquest by the Dharma) was won here, on the borders, and even 600 leagues from here where the king Antiochos reigns, and beyond where reign the four kings Ptolemy, Antigonos, Magas and Alexander, likewise in the south, where live the Cholas, the Pandyas, and as far as Tamraparni”

This is a rather decent video regarding Shugendou.
The Italian host is kinda insufferable, and some of the translations and interpretations, such as not having a text or scripture, are wrong.
But what the Sensei puts forth is a near perfect basic understanding of the practice and my own belief, apart from some deeper aspect one come to learn.
It's worth watching.
“It is such a mistake to assume that practicing dharma will help us calm down and lead an untroubled life; nothing could be further from the truth. Dharma is not a therapy. Quite the opposite, in fact; dharma is tailored specifically to turn your life upside down—it’s what you sign up for. So when your life goes pear-shaped, why do you complain? If you practice and your life fails to capsize, it is a sign that what you are doing is not working. This is what distinguishes the dharma from New Age methods involving auras, relationships, communication, well-being, the Inner Child, being one with the universe, and tree hugging. From the point of view of dharma, such interests are the toys of samsaric beings—toys that quickly bore us senseless.”

― Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche

"Theodorus de Bry (1528 – 27 March 1598) published his book Grand Voyages around 1590 CE, which has engravings of the Ixora God (Shiva) with 16 hands, wearing tiger skin, with half-moon on his head but in blonde hair and has human heads instead of skulls around his neck."

A Tocharian mural in Maya Cave shows two men scarring their foreheads at the Buddha’s funeral.
Bede mentions scarring the face after the death of a loved one in his penitential among residual pagan practices in the 8th Century, it’s entirely possible that the practice of scarifying or tattooing the face in memory of fallen kinsmen originated with the Proto Indo-Europeans.

1. Shiva depicted as a Lingam and made to appear like fire instead of stone.

2. In other depictions, Shiva is confused with Brahma.

The Ixora God is shown as a four faced bearded man who could heal the sick.

3. Brahma is depicted in engravings as Brama, with one head but inside an egg shape.
Brahmanda (Brahma’s Anda = Creator’s Egg) is the shape of the entire creation, which is in the shape of an egg.
