Even dragons shall Him praise.
Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for man, Christ embodies love itself, God is love. The Church is the very bride of Christ, and yet I wonder- can any of us truly love God even a fraction of how much He loves us?
It seems so obvious that even the most saintly to have ever tread this earth cannot begin to love Christ enough. Our love will always be inferior to His love.
And then I ask, if the relationship between Christ and the Church is meant to mirror that of a man and his bride, is this relationship of love not true for human marriage as well? Most certainly so.

Every man must one day come to terms with the fact that no woman will ever love him as deeply as he may love her. Women are simpler, more delicate creatures, which while being outwardly emotional, are inwardly more shallow than the male sex. As much as she may love you, live in submission to you, and yearn for your approval, she will never feel as deeply for you as you for her.

On Maundy Thursday, I had a very profound realization. I am sure that many Christians have already seen this obvious parallel, and I am sure many clergy have presched about this, but it was something I had never noticed before.
As I stood among the saints, we sang hymn 547 from the Lutheran Service Book: The Lamb. The first 2 lines of the hymn opened my eyes, and I have not been able to get this off my mind since then: The Lamb, the Lamb, O Father, where's the sacrifice?
Faith sees, believes- God will provide the Lamb of price

These words instantly invoked the scene where Abraham was preparing to sacrifice Isaac, and God provided a pure and spotless ram who's horns were caught in the brambles of a thicket. I then thought of how Christ Jesus was taken and had the crown of thorns driven into His skull during Good Friday. I had never noticed that little detail that both Christ and the ram had a sort of crown of thorns. Any part of a ram's wooly body could have gotten stuck in the brambles, but yet it was specifically his horns.

As I said, I am sure plenty of you have already seen this detail, but it just struck me as so profound, and such a glorious detail which carried through to the sacrifice of our Blessed Redeemer.
