Practicing in difficult times: how not to lose yourself and help others (memo)
✅ Don't wait for hard times to start practicing. A crisis exposes our unpreparedness and forces us to act from a position of asking rather than practicing.
✅ Turn every action into a practice. The key is the right motivation. Do the practice not for the sake of getting rid of something but to benefit everyone around you, including yourself.
✅ The importance of formal daily practice. Life is fleeting, and to put off practicing is to miss precious time.
✅ Laziness is a major obstacle to practice. It prevents us from achieving real change.
✅ The interconnectedness of everything with everything else. Our actions affect not only us but also those around us.
✅ Difficult situations are growth opportunities. In crisis, we can reach deep levels of faith, compassion, wisdom, and other important and positive qualities and abilities.
✅ Find your practice. Not to chase after the “super-cool” techniques, but to choose what is right for you and makes you better.
✅ Don't wait for reasons and conditions. Practice here and now, every day, because the conditions you have are the best conditions at the moment according to your karma.
