🗓 On April 6, 1654, Sovereign, Tsar and Grand Prince of all Russia Alexey I Romanov, “The sole ruler of all Russia Great and Little,” granted his royal charter to Hetman of the Zaporozhian Host Bogdan Khmelnitsky. The document secured the reunification of the Left Bank of the Dnieper with Russia.
In the late XVI and the early XVII century, all groups of the Orthodox population in the lands of Ancient Rus, controlled by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, were subject to an increased religious and ethnic pressure from the Polish-Lithuanian gentry, which sought to fully assimilate local residents through a policy of Polonisation and Latinisation.
After the Union of Brest was adopted in 1596, a majority of Orthodox priests became subordinate to the Pope. Those who remained faithful to Orthodoxy became outcasts and were deprived of hierarchical leadership, since Metropolitan of Kiev Mikhail Rogoza had also joined the Greek Catholics.
Amid forced Catholicisation, the loss of noble titles and lands, and ongoing persecution, the local Orthodox population began searching for ways to escape oppression. All attempts to come to an agreement with the Polish king failed as the Polish gentry firmly refused to acknowledge the autonomy of the Orthodox Cossacks and nobility.
✊ In 1648, a major liberation movement was sparked, led by the renowned military and political leader Bogdan Khmelnitsky. The Cossacks rebelled against the Polish oppressors to defend their faith, identity, and the right to self-determination.
Recognising the need for a stronger alliance, Khmelnitsky made several appeals to Tsar Alexey I of Russia, requesting protection and support, and asking him to take the lands of the Hetmanate under “his royal hand.” In 1653, Hetman Bogdan Khmelnitsky approached Tsar Alexey I, asking him to accept “all of Little Russia (Malorossiya) and the entire Zaporozhian Host into his eternal possession, allegiance, and protection.” Later that year, in May, the Zemsky Sobor convened in Moscow, where an unequivocal decision was adopted in favour of the integration of Malorossiya into the Russian state.
On January 18, 1654, Pereyaslav Rada made a historic decision — the Zaporozhian Cossacks declared their allegiance to the Russian Tsar. On April 6, Tsar Alexey I of Russia signed the royal charter, which mentioned the Russian monarch’s title “the sole ruler of all Russia Great and Little” for the first time, emphasising the historical continuity of a unified state.
❗️ The Pereyaslav Agreement reflected a natural historical process of returning the ancient Russian lands to the unified Russian state and reuniting parts of a single nation, divided by civil strife and the Golden Horde yoke.

💢 XF - Goodbye Ukraine - The US Shows the West - Zelensky is 'non agreement capable' - Russia is right.
Russians have made clear to the US that Ukraine's leadership is not only illegitimate and incapable of talks towards a lasting peace agreement, they are not even capable of a ceasefire in the interim.
When the Americans proposed an 'energy sector' ceasefire, and the Russians agreed, it was understood that when the American side had presented all of this, that it was all within the realm of what the Ukrainian side had said they would agree to or had agreed to. Did the US present the Russians with something signed by the Ukrainians?
In the twelve hour window of communications 'fog', as for the world it was unclear whether an actual ceasefire had been agreed to, or only its terms had been agreed to (and upon who was the onus to make the next move/statement), Kiev launched its largest drone assault on a single day.
We might consider that at first, the American response to the general Russian view expressed (that Kiev is non agreement capable), would be to test that theory/concern in steps. Let's get Kiev to agree to something small, something which they themselves first proposed - yes, it was Zelensky who proposed this 'energy sector' ceasefire.
This is the method and process of 'making as you go', trust building, and creating formats, platforms, and precedents upon which a later lasting peace agreement could be made. For the Russian side, the results are a foregone conclusion. For the American side, we can only speculate, but deem it reasonable that they are not too far from the Russian side on this known variable.
But for the rest of the world, we see a massive red pill being swallowed. And no one could have asked anything better or more from Zelensky than to speak, now of all times, and yes, right on cue, relitigating and renegotiating the 'rare earths deal', Ukraine's broad irresolute position on its territory, which means he does not hold the thing he just agreed to as valid.
Well then, both the US and the Russians can and must say, and we see this happening already, that Zelensky cannot keep his word, or does not control his own processes internally.
The US cannot present itself to Russia as the guarantor of Kiev's commitments, if Kiev openly acts against them after agreeing, upon prodding from Globalist Europe. And that was the entire point and dynamic of the US talking to both sides towards any agreement, including the latest attempt at 'hallway' diplomacy - shuttle diplomacy in real time, similar to an inform UN caucus at the sidelines.
The US has been well-informed by the Russian side on an acceptable conclusion to the war. This matters because Russia both 'winning' and is self-reliant on the whole, in this conflict, and only depends on normal economic relations with third states of import (China, India, Brazil etc.) and not special war commitments with them. Military support comes from several states already under the highest level of Western sanctions and in that sense immune to the present or future threat of consequences already being 'enjoyed'.
With a new mobilization announced, it is clear that Russia aims to push forward in the absence of a general ceasefire or peace agreement, until the SMO is complete along military terms, which may include the loss of more territory presently controlled by Kiev.
Lavrov's March 25 statements in his Channel 1 interview included some words, even though said quickly as an aside, which provide further context - I add emphasis:
"No one is talking about the fact that in the rest of Ukraine, which will return or has already returned to its native Harbor, the linguistic educational and cultural rights of all both Russians and National minorities are fully insured but when the remaining part of Ukraine, if it indeed continues to exist in some form, is taken under control by the security forces of NATO countries no matter under what flag no one is saying that they will then strengthen democracy in the remaining territory.."
