Tanks then and now are advantage pushers - they are not meant to go against other tanks.
They are meant to take a beating from infantry and emplacements and give it back tenfold.
Tank against tank is kinda like knight against knight.
It happened rarely and when it did happen it ended fast and usually with the one who fired first, hence why view ports and ergonomics are so important.
For a commander to be able to give commands better, for a gunner to rotate the gun faster, for the driver to shift gears and change directions faster, for the crew to rest better and have more amenities.
Real life isn't warthunder.
