The day of the fourth battalion of the military police of the Sarajevo-Romania Corps of the Army of Republika Srpska was marked in East Sarajevo.
A memorial service for the fallen and deceased members of the battalion was held at 12 noon at the "Glory to the Serbian Fighter" Monument in Lukavica.
In addition to the usual military-police tasks, the unit was also engaged in the war zone throughout the Sarajevo battlefield, with the primary goal of protecting the territory and population from enemy aggression.
409 soldiers passed through the unit, 31 of whom were decorated.

On Christmas Day 32 years ago, Muslim terrorists from Srebrenica attacked the village of Kravica and brutally murdered 49 civilians.
The youngest victim was four-year-old Vladimir Gajić.
The oldest victim was Mara Bozić, a motionless 89-year-old woman.
Autopsies showed that almost all of the victims were killed after being captured.
On that occasion, the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul was destroyed and looted, and its priest was brutally massacred. The operation was led by Naser Orić, who was never held accountable for this crime.
