▫️Three arrested in modern slavery police operation
Three people have been arrested as part of a police and immigration operation to target modern slavery in a town.
Suffolk Police said its officers had joined immigration enforcement officers in Sudbury on Monday to "protect those who are most vulnerable" at sites across the town. They visited 10 businesses, including car washes, nail bars, barbers, restaurants and convenience stores. The three arrested people would be dealt with by immigration services, Suffolk Police said.

▫️More shop and barber raids to come, says inspector
A police inspector in charge of an operation investigating high street businesses acting as fronts for criminal activity has said there are more raids to come.
Raids in Shrewsbury, Hereford and Worcester, were amongst 265 carried out across England and Wales as part of a crackdown on businesses - often Turkish-style barbers, vape shops and mini-marts - suspected of being fronts for international crime gangs.
Det Insp Daniel Fenn of West Mercia Police said from the 33 warrants issued, four arrests for money laundering and immigration offences were made.
He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "You shouldn't be worried about going into a barber shop because some of them are being run legally."

▫️Teachers exempt from reporting teenage sex under ‘Romeo and Juliet’ clause
Reporting sexually active teenagers to the police will not always be compulsory by law under a new crackdown on child abuse after MPs backed a “Romeo and Juliet” exemption.
Under the new Crime and Policing Bill, teachers and other adults who work with children will face sanctions if they fail to report suspicions of child sexual abuse.
The new law, aimed at protecting minors, was drafted in the wake of child grooming scandals.
But MPs have decided teachers should be given leeway to use their own judgement and will not be obliged to report to authorities consenting underage sexual relationships.

▫️UK Breaks Human Trafficking Records Despite Landmark Anti-Slavery Law
Slavery and human trafficking are alive—and even thriving—in Great Britain.
The revolting crimes have been setting new growth records each year. In fact, if the British Home Office’s 2024 National Referral Mechanism and Duty to Notify report is any indication, human trafficking and modern slavery are at their highest levels in recorded history.
In 2024, there were 19,125 potential victims of slavery reported to the Home Office, a 13 percent increase over 2023, which was itself a record, according to the authors of the report.

This violent extremist network targets kids online: Investigating the satanic, neo-Nazi cult targeting children online 🌎
CBC’s The Fifth Estate investigates a group called 764 and related organizations that form a global satanic, neo-Nazi network of violent extremists that target children online.
The RCMP have acknowledged to The Fifth Estate that initially law enforcement didn’t know what it was dealing with.
764 deliberately targets vulnerable children by prowling on popular gaming sites like Minecraft and Roblox, where members lure them into private online chats on Discord and Telegram.
Often, these spaces are disguised as safe places for minors with eating disorders or poor self-esteem.
Experts say the grooming includes lavishing victims with attention and exposing them to violent content to desensitize them. Victims are then coerced into sending sexually explicit images and to self-harm, including carving their predator's names into their skin as a sign of devotion.
Members of 764 threaten to share the images with family and friends to get their victims to do even worse, like hurting their pets, harming others and even killing themselves, all in an effort to exert control for their own gratification.
The FBI first warned the public about 764 in September 2023 amid a series of arrests, including Bradley Cadenhead, a 15-year-old from Texas who founded the group in 2020 and named it after his zip code. Cadenhead is serving an 80-year sentence in 2023 for pleading guilty to possession with intent to promote child pornography.
Marc-André Argentino, a senior researcher at Public Safety Canada specializing in extremism movements said law enforcement have located cases in at least 23 countries, and he estimates there are likely both perpetrators and victims in every province in Canada. Argentino’s research has found recent alliances between 764 and other online extremist groups like No Lives Matter (NLM) and Maniac Murder Cult (MKY or MKU). Both promote targeted attacks and mass killings and circulate so-called “kill guides” online.
The RCMP told The Fifth Estate 764 is now classified as a terror threat and that it is investigating a number of 764 cases across the country, but would not offer more details. Earlier this month, the FBI published a second public safety alert, warning of a “sharp increase” in activity among 764 and its related groups.

Operation Cyber Guardian: Online Predator Crackdown: 435 Arrested Across Asia in Child Abuse Operation - Asian police forces nab more than 400 suspects in joint operation targeting online child abuse
Hundreds of suspects across Asia were arrested in a major cross-border crackdown on online child sexual exploitation, including 21 men in Singapore. The operation unearthed disturbing use of AI-generated abuse content and transnational grooming tactics.
From February 24 to March 28, 2025, police forces in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand launched a synchronized five-week enforcement effort against online child sexual exploitation.
The operation targeted the production, possession, sale, and dissemination of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), as well as direct criminal communication with minors.
Involving 269 coordinated raids across six territories, the operation led to the arrest of 435 individuals, and 109 more are currently assisting with investigations.

🇺🇸 Feds lost track of 600,000 unaccompanied migrant children: DHS IG
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are unable to effectively monitor more than 600,000 children who illegally crossed the southern border unaccompanied by a guardian since 2019, according to a new report from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General.
The report said that hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied migrant children entered the country and were transferred from ICE to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement. Of those children, however, 233,000 have not yet been served notices to appear in immigration court by ICE as of this week, the report said.

▫️Survivors of childhood sexual abuse call out Calvert Hall for ‘systemic culture of silence’
New complaints were filed against Calvert Hall College High School on Monday.
Lawyers claim the school failed to protect children from “systemic sexual abuse” by priests, brothers and teachers. They’re accused of grooming and molesting children for decades. Kit Bateman is one of the plaintiffs coming forward. He said the all-boys Catholic school helped shape him as a person, but that there’s also a dark, painful part of his experience.
Lawyers named five people who were either priests, brothers or teachers. Those named are the Rev. Laurence Brett, the Rev. Jerome Toohey, the Rev. Francis LeFevre, Brother Geoffrey Xavier Langan and Mr. Stephen Arnold. The five are accused of various forms of rape and assault, with much of the accusations taking place in the 1970s.

The parents of two Vermont children have sued Snap Inc., which owns and operates Snapchat, accusing the social media company of aiding and abetting a man who allegedly sexually abused their daughters.

It's estimated between 15,000 and 50,000 women and children in America become victims of sex trafficking every year - though some studies say the number could be as large as 325,000. A global study also shows the spread of online abuse, with one in nine American men committing child sexual exploitation offences on the internet.

There’s going to be someone who wants a job where they have unfettered access to young children all day. And the more that job involves completely unsupervised access to children, the more attractive that job is going to be. That’s a problem. ▫️Sean "Diddy" Combs hit with new sex trafficking charges a month before trial
Federal prosecutors have added two charges to Sean "Diddy" Combs ' indictment, expanding on allegations that the jailed hip-hop mogul engaged in sex trafficking as recently as last year.
A superseding indictment filed Friday accuses Combs of using force, fraud, or coercion to compel a woman to engage in commercial sex acts from at least 2021 to 2024. The indictment, returned by a federal grand jury in Manhattan, also alleges Combs was involved in transporting the woman — identified only as Victim-2 — and other people, including commercial sex workers, to engage in prostitution during the same time frame. The new charges are in addition to racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges filed against Combs when he was arrested in September. They increase the total number of charges against him from three to five.
