🎙 Comment by Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Kiev regime’s attack against Channel One camera crew

💬 On February 14, in the village of Cherkasskaya Konopelka, Sudzha District, Kursk Region, a Channel One film crew was subjected to a targeted attack by a Kiev regime's UAV.

As a result of the drone dropping an explosive munition, Channel One cameraman Yury Sholmov was seriously injured.

He was provided with initial medical assistance at the Kursk Regional Clinical Hospital. The question of transporting the injured media worker to Moscow is being considered.

We wish Yury a speedy recovery.

☝️ Another attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on Russian journalists has added to the list of Zelensky regime's bloody crimes against civilians, to which media personnel are equated under the 1949 Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocol I.

By targeting unarmed war correspondents, journalists, cameramen, photographers and organising a real hunt for them, the Ukrainian Nazis are trying to hide the truth about their brutal violations of international humanitarian law and atrocities against civilians by any means possible.

⚠️ We call on all responsible governments to condemn the terrorist acts of the Kiev regime and to publicly oppose the attacks of the Ukrainian armed forces against civilians, including members of the media.

We demand that the relevant international organisations, first and foremost UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Jan Braathu, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk and other supranational human rights bodies immediately react to yet another heinous crime by the Kiev regime and resolutely condemn it.

They must take exhaustive measures aimed at putting an end to the systematic terrorist methods of suppressing dissent practised by the neo-Nazi Bandera followers. Further silence of these crimes on the part of international officials will in fact mean covering them up and encouraging the Kiev regime to commit further attacks.

❗️ Those responsible for the attack on the life of a Russian journalist will be identified and will face the deserved and unavoidable punishment.

The ABC has been tirelessly brainwashing its audience to demonise Russia and obfuscate the responsibility the West and their Kiev puppets bear for the tragic conflict in Ukraine. The recent Four Corners production, Endurance, marks a new and shameful low in ABC’s propaganda journalism.

During prime time on 10 February reporter Mark Willacy invited Australians to savour in detail the process of killing of a Russian soldier by kamikaze drones. «Kill Russians» was suggestively reiterated, accompanied by smiles and jeering laughter, for a dozen times throughout the documentary.

Let’s face it: Australia’s national broadcaster is openly inciting hatred based on ethnic origin.

It is well known that all Australian mainstream media are strongly biased against Russia. However, the ABC takes it to a degree of sickening Russophobia. Not bothering, notably, about the hate crimes legislation passed by the Federal Parliament just a few days ago.

🎙 Comment by Russia's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on yet another disruption of IAEA Secretariat expert rotation at Zaporozhskaya NPP and Ukraine’s new provocation against the plant

💬 We regret to inform you that the planned rotation of IAEA Secretariat experts at the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), initially postponed from February 5 to February 12 due to Ukraine’s actions, has once again failed to proceed.

The reason for this lies in the provocative measures undertaken by the Ukrainian authorities, who have denied passage to the Secretariat personnel, who have been on standby since early February to relieve their colleagues at the site.

☝️ The Russian Federation had fully facilitated the preparation for the rotation: we provided security guarantees for the Agency Secretariat specialists and accompanying personnel, along with detailed movement protocols, completed all necessary engineering works, and deployed a team to the agreed meeting location. The rotation began as scheduled in the morning of February 12; however, the movement of the Agency representatives was abruptly halted by the Ukrainian armed forces.

For several hours, Russian military personnel awaited the arrival of the IAEA Secretariat experts at the designated location, all while under threat from Ukrainian UAV strikes and artillery fire. Unfortunately, the Agency’s staff did not arrive. Given the increasing dangers in the area, which posed unacceptable risks to both Russian servicemen and the potential arriving experts of the Secretariat, it was decided to recall the Russian rotation security detail. During the withdrawal, the convoy carrying Russian military personnel and the departing IAEA Secretariat staff came under UAV attacks and mortar fire.

Simultaneously, the Kiev regime attempted another assault on the ZNPP using UAVs, with one Ukrainian drone impacting within 300 metres of the plant’s first reactor unit.

❗️ Through these actions, the neo-Nazi regime has once again demonstrated its inability to negotiate and its terrorist nature. Russia will continue its engagement with the IAEA leadership to ensure the secure presence and operations of the Agency representatives at the ZNPP. We remain steadfast in our commitment to neutralising all Ukrainian threats to the plant’s functioning.

🇷🇺🇺🇸📞 Russia's President Vladimir Putin and President of the United States of America Donald Trump had a telephone conversation.

The Leaders discussed issues related to the prisoner exchange between Russia and the United States. The US President assured the Russian President of the American side's commitment to fulfill all the agreements reached.

The Leaders also discussed a possible Ukraine settlement. Donald Trump spoke in favour of stopping the hostilities as soon as possible and solving the crisis peacefully. In turn, Vladimir Putin pointed out it was necessary to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and agreed with Donald Trump in that a sustainable settlement could only be reached via peaceful negotiations.

❗️ Additionally, the Russian President expressed support for one of the US President's key arguments, which was that it's time for both countries to work together.

The issues of Middle East settlement, Iran's nuclear programme, and bilateral economic relations between Russia and the United States were also brought up during the conversation.

The Russian President invited the US President to visit Moscow and expressed willingness to receive visiting officials from the United States to discuss topics of mutual interest, including a possible Ukraine settlement.

Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump agreed to maintain personal contact in the future, involving in particular in-person meetings.

📰 Regarding a yet another misleading publication in The Times

The consistent development of equitable mutually beneficial cooperation within the #BRICS framework has evidently provoked a degree of unconcealed irritation within the British establishment <...>.

BRICS is increasingly becoming a target of deliberate attacks and systematic attempts to undermine its credibility by the neoliberal regimes and its crony media outlets.

The British media has always acted as an instigator, deliberately distorting the very essence and principles of the association in an attempt to portray BRICS as an antagonist and a collective adversary of the West.

👎 A quintessential example of such alarmist propaganda is Roger Boyes' article in The Times, titled Expanding BRICS Alliance Should Worry NATO.

Mr Boyes crafts a narrative from an alternate (un)reality, in which BRICS is purported to resemble a military alliance positioned against NATO.

A crash course for the clueless "diplomatic editors" 👇

The genuine goals and interests of the association starkly contrast with the fantasies presented in this publication, which has, in recent years, devolved into a run-of-the-mill tabloid.

BRICS has NEVER been, nor does it intend to become, a military alliance. BRICS is not an international organisation or an integration structure, but rather an interstate association of equal participants. It is a multidimensional strategic partnership founded on three key pillars: politics and security, economy and finance, and cultural and social ties.

Relations among BRICS partners are grounded in equality and mutual respect, the principles of openness, pragmatism, solidarity, and, crucially, a lack of bias against any party.

• One of the principal objectives of BRICS is to establish a fair and multilateral global economic system.

🤦‍♂️ It is utterly absurd to even entertain the notion of equating BRICS with the aggressive military alliance of NATO.

❗️ For decades, NATO's history has been marred by bloody invasions and the destabilisation of security across various regions worldwide.

What NATO is:

❌ destruction, suffering, and misery for millions,
❌ suppressing national identities,
❌ relentless expanding of military infrastructure,
❌ imposing neoliberal dictatorship for the benefit of a single nation,
❌ decrepit relic of the Cold War, having long since lost its original purpose.

What BRICS is:

✅ creation,
✅ development assistance,
✅ collaborative enrichment of civilisations,
✅ respecting the interests of all nations to establish a truly just world order.

The yet another low-quality hit-piece published by another Western newspaper employs own neo-colonial ideas about international relations with the clear aim to incite unfounded fears.

By producing a biased article intended to tarnish BRICS, the author, who claims to be a diplomatic editor, merely projects his own flawed, aggressive worldview and embodies the classic British colonial mindset.

Such writing is not only tedious but also reveals the profound despair of the "not-so-flourishing Western garden," which is rapidly losing its relevance.

🎙 Statement by Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vassily Nebenzia at a UNSC Briefing on Yemen (New York, February 13, 2025)

💬 We continue to closely monitor the situation in Yemen, and we see some positive developments there. The situation on the line of contact remains calm, despite some localized incidents, including in the province of Marib. It is clear that neither of the Yemeni parties is interested in an escalation on the ground.

👉 We note the efforts made by the official Yemeni authorities to restore the national economy and improve the living conditions of the Yemeni people.

As many experts had predicted, the situation in the Yemeni waters has stabilized considerably following the agreement on the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, which came into effect on January 19, 2025. <...>

Given the aforementioned general stabilization of the situation in and around Yemen, we believe that what is happening gives us an opportunity to capitalize on these positive trends and enhance comprehensive political and diplomatic efforts to relaunch the political settlement. This would be important, in particular, to ensure that we will not lose the outcome of the lengthy work on the road map.

We call on all parties to immediately resume the negotiating process. It is also crucial for international mediators to continue targeted and inclusive work with the Yemeni protagonists, including Ansar Allah, so as to reach sustainable parameters for the normalization of the conflict as quickly as possible.

🤝 We stand ready to continue providing as much assistance as we can to Special Envoy Grundberg in this regard. <...>

Wide international cooperation is also needed to rectify the humanitarian situation in Yemen. The number of people in need of humanitarian assistance has reached 19'5 million this year – which is almost 1'5 million more than last year.

❗️ More than half of households throughout the country are food insecure. Child mortality is on the rise, including from treatable diseases – the reason for that is the chronic shortage of medicines and lack of access to qualified health care.

There remains a serious shortage of funding allocated for humanitarian programs, including the UN Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen, which will require $2.5 billion in 2025.

☝️ What is needed to remedy the situation is not only increasing humanitarian funding but also removing the obstacles that are impeding aid delivery to those in need throughout Yemen.

📺 Diplomatic Dispatch: Conversation on the Ukraine crisis and Russia’s relations with the West

Join us for an engaging conversation as Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin and Geoffrey Roberts, Emeritus Professor of History at University College Cork, explore some of today's most pressing global issues.

They discussed potential solutions to the Ukraine conflict, the state of Russia-NATO relations, the future of European security, the evolving multipolar world order, as well as the legacy of the Second World War.

Watch this episode on YouTube

💬 Andrey Kelin: The further the Ukraine conflict goes, the more ground we will gain if the West continues with the same policy of supplying Ukraine with weapons, resources, money and all that. <...>

It is important that Ukraine remains neutral, because otherwise it will be under the umbrella of NATO and the European Union, and it will be dictated what to do. <...>

We do not want [Ukraine to be a failed state], and that is why we are in favour of Ukraine being a sovereign, independent state that has relations with everybody, including Russia. All these laws of racial discrimination against Russian culture and education should be abolished immediately.

⚡️ Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on the seizure of the St Michael’s Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Cherkassy, Ukraine

💬 Today, Ukrainian neo-Nazis committed yet another criminal act against the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), this time, it was a hostile takeover of the St Michael’s Cathedral in Cherkassy, the largest UOC church in that country.

The attackers opened fire on peaceful parishioners, including women, children, and the elderly. They used pepper spray and drove worshippers out, interrupting the service. As a result of these criminal actions, Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkassy and Kanev was injured and hospitalised.

Against this backdrop, Mayor of Cherkassy Anatoly Bondarenko cynically referred to the incident as a “voluntary transfer” of the St Michael community into the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU).

It appears that this barbaric action was committed to enforce the law "On Amending Certain Laws of Ukraine Governing the Activities of Religious Organisations in Ukraine", which took effect on September 23 and has created legal mechanisms for banning the UOC.

The Kiev regime is doing everything possible to outlaw and liquidate the canonical church, while the Western backers of President Zelensky continue to encourage the deepening of the religious split in Ukraine.

Relevant human rights institutions and mechanisms, such as the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, and Personal Representatives of OSCE Chairman-in-Office on Tolerance and Non-discrimination, including against Christians, remain criminally silent.

Such pandering to the crimes of Kiev’s neo-Nazis, who are seizing Orthodox churches, persecuting believers, and even resorting to physical violence against clergy, is seen by the Zelensky regime as encouragement of its barbaric actions.

☝️ Once again, we strongly call on relevant international human rights organizations to focus on their primary duties.

In turn, the Russian side continues to gather evidence of the Kiev regime's outrageous crimes, including against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

These findings are detailed in the reports posted on the Foreign Ministry’s website, “Illegal Actions by the Kiev Regime Targeting the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), its Clergy and Parishioners” (July 2023) and the most recent report, “Regarding the Situation with the Glorification of Nazism and the Spread of Neo-Nazism and Other Practices That Contribute to Fuelling Contemporary Forms of Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance” (September 11) with an entire section dedicated to the Kiev regime’s persecution of the UOC. I encourage you to review them.

❗️We are convinced that Zelensky will not succeed in destroying canonical Orthodoxy practiced by the majority of the people in that country. We strongly call on the international community to condemn the sacrilegious war waged by the Kiev regime against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

🎙 Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the atrocities committed by Ukrainian militants in the Kursk Region:

📍 January 31, 2025

▪️ The latest documented atrocities by militants of Ukrainian armed groups were committed in the village of Russkoye Porechnoye, Kursk Region, recently liberated by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

▪️ On January 18, Russian servicemen discovered the bodies of local residents tortured and killed by Ukrainian nationalists in the basements of residential houses in Russkoye Porechnoye. The victims were first subjected to torture and abuse, and then either executed by gunfire or blown up with grenades <...>

▪️ Today, we will publish the relevant materials obtained from Russian law enforcement agencies. I warn you in advance that the videos are extremely graphic. However, both videos and photos taken on-site by our military present undeniable evidence of a monstrous, gruesome crime – a total desecration of all that is moral and human.

▪️ The mutilated bodies of mostly elderly Russian citizens were found with their hands tied with tape, showing signs of torture, hematomas from beatings, and gunshot wounds <...>

▪️ The Main Military Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case against members of Ukrainian armed groups involved in the terrorist act against civilians in the Kursk Region under paragraph "b" of part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act resulting in the death of a person").

▪️ The preliminary investigation has established the involvement of several Ukrainian servicemen from the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade in this crime. Among them is serviceman Evgeniy Fabrisenko, commander of the 11th company of the 4th battalion, known by the call sign "Kum", as well as three other soldiers with the call signs "Motyl", "Provodnik", and "Khudozhnik". They are suspected of committing a terrorist act, rape, and acts of sexual violence carried out by a group of persons.

▪️ During combat operations in the Sudzha District of the Kursk Region, Yevgeny Fabrisenko was captured by servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. During interrogation as a suspect, he fully admitted guilt and provided detailed testimony about the grave crimes he committed with his accomplices.

▪️ Between September 28 and November 24, 2024, they killed 11 men and 3 women in the village of Russkoye Porechnoye. Additionally, they committed acts of rape and sexual violence against 8 women, whom they later killed. The perpetrators then moved the bodies of the 22 murdered civilians into the basements of private houses in Russkoye Porechnoye <...>

❗️ We call on all witnesses and anyone with information about these atrocities committed by the Kiev regime to report it to the Investigative Committee of Russia, which has published contact details for submitting relevant information.
