A Longford woman said she believed she was going to be killed by a man who unleashed a “sustained, violent and vicious attack” on her in a park in a midlands town. Then as she lay motionless on the floor, the accused bent over and said menacingly: "I want to rape you."

🚨 Suspected child abduction attempt when a seven-year-old girl was waiting for the school gates to open outside Bunscoil Lughaidh Naofa in Carrickmacross.
"As she was walking in, a woman of another nationality approached her and asked her to come with her."
In response, the school has advised parents that the gates do not open until 8:45am and that it is their responsibility to ensure their children's safety at this time.

Cllr Tom McDonnell from Kildare spoke with Sonny McDaid, the man assaulted by a gang of seven foreigners on Letterkenny’s Main Street last week. During the attack, McDaid says he was was told, “This is our town now.”
McDaid fought back and told McDonnell he was glad they attacked him instead of someone less capable.
“They expected me to take off running, you see—but I didn’t take off running. I ran at them... Bit of manners goes a long way. These boys have no manners... They said you're a dead man. Your family's dead. We're going to kill your dog. This is our fucking town.”
