Juliet Aquila, 10 months, of Naugatuck
1/13/24 - “On April 5, 2024, Chris and Anna welcomed Baby Juliet to the world. It was not easy. Anna had two emergent surgeries: one at 22 weeks to try and stop her body from going into labor, & then a second one at 24 weeks to get the baby out and try saving her”
“Juliet was born in Danbury Hospital at 24 weeks”
“Due to Juliet being so premature, she has severe Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia and had Retinopathy of Prematurity. . .She was tube-fed since being born to provide necessary nutrition requirements. She was intubated up until her due date. She had 14 blood transfusions, 6 rounds of steroids, and 5 procedures/surgeries: 2 on her eyes to correct the ROP & prevent her from going blind, & the other 3 were for tube placements in & beyond her stomach”
“After 271 days, Juliet is home. . . She’s on her vent 19 hours a day & then just oxygen for 5”
Juliet’s dad, Chris Aquila, has been an OR RN at Danbury Hospital since 8/23. Prior to that, an OR RN at Griffin Hospital
