According to Pakistani security officials who spoke to CNN, last night’s aerial “dogfight” between the Indian and Pakistani Air Force, which Pakistani officials claim resulted in the downing of at least five Indian fighter jets, was one of the “largest and longest in recent aviation history,” involving a total of 125 fighter jets battling for over an hour in the skies above the border regions of India and Pakistan. During the battle, neither country's aircraft are said to have entered the other's airspace, with air-to-air missile exchanges happening at distances sometimes greater than 160 kilometers.

It’s nearly a full-house today at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, with satellite imagery captured by @MT_Anderson on X showing 6 B-2A “Spirit” Long-Range Strategic Stealth Bombers, 6 KC-135 Aerial-Refueling Tankers, 2 B-52H Long-Range Strategic Bombers, and a C-5M “Galaxy” Strategic Heavy-Lifter on the tarmac at NSF Diego Garcia. In addition, two more B-52s are expected to arrive at the airbase later today, placing at least 10 long-range strategic bombers in range of both Iran and China.

A French intelligence official confirmed today to CNN that the Indian Air Force has lost at least one Rafale fighter jet in the last 24 hours to Pakistan. The Pakistani Defense Ministry claims that five fighter jets operated by the Indian Air Force were shot down last night near the border between India and Pakistan, including three Rafales. French officials are still attempting to determine the status of the two other Rafales.
