Dances With Wolves 1990
A Civil War soldier develops a relationship with a band of Lakota Indians. Attracted by the simplicity of their lifestyle, he chooses to leave his former life behind to be with them. MAN'S FEAR
,,It is a man's fear that often prevents him from following his heart's path. Just as a woman is afraid, so too—but the ways to overcome it are different.
For men, the heart is the vulnerable pole. The area where they need protection. Just as a woman can only surrender when she feels safe – emotionally and physically – a man needs a safe space to truly open up.
But what is often the reality?
The woman wants the man to open up and talk about his feelings.
The man, on the other hand, longs for closeness without many words.
Both act out of an inner lack – and overlook the fact that true intimacy can never be forced.
A man who hasn't learned that his heart also deserves protection withdraws. He represses. He functions. Until he closes himself off inside. His wounds are silent, but they shape his entire being. They manifest themselves in withdrawal, anger, excessive demands, or fear of commitment.
Woman is nature. She flows. She is connected to all living things.
The man seeks this connection—through her. And she can teach him to feel, while he gives her direction, clarity, and support.
Because a woman's highest calling is to lead a man to his heart.
