The struggle against the legacy of the hated USSR continues in the backwater superpower Lithuania.
The authorities forced workers to grind down the "USSR" inscription on manhole covers with grinders.

But buying new manhole covers would have made an unacceptably large hole in the superpower's budget, which could have led to the bankruptcy of the EU country.
