Christle, a law student and gifted orator, (who had been expelled from the IRA in Dublin after the introduction of General Order No 8), formed his own splinter group who would partake in various joint operations with Liam Kelly's Saor Uladh during Operation Harvest.

Mac Curtain makes reference to EOKA, given that when the IRA were planning to shoot their way into Wakefield Prison in 1955 to free an imprisoned Seán Garland, they fully intended to rescue the EOKA prisoners there as well.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair demanded Sinn Fein’s Gerry Adams betray former comrades who had joined the breakaway Real IRA, according to British state papers held in London.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, the revelation is contained in a memo of a telephone call between Blair and the 26 County Taoiseach Bertie Ahern in December 2000.

Author Martin Dillon stated that he met with an anonymous Protestant who had served in the IDF and was encouraged by Mossad to join the UDR to supply them with British Military Files on the IRA

He passed British Intelligence files to a Mossad Katsa - intelligence officer - at the Israeli Embassy in London.

At the time, Margaret Thatcher had banned Mossad from operating in Britain and their files on the IRA were slowly becoming outdated. Their need to know about IRA operatives related to ‘their global war against terrorism.’

They were especially keen to track the IRA's arms dealings with the Libyan regime, the Basque separatist group, ETA, and Yasser Arafat's PLO.
