While the Red Army was dissolving churches and murdering Orthodox priests in cold blood, Stalin's atheistic replacement was far from his only proposal to offer to the people of Russia.
The standard narrative is that the Soviet Union sought to turn religions into manifestations of national cultural heritage. In this instance, however, the reverse happened. In order to replace religious holidays, the Soviet state encouraged people to celebrate pagan Russian holidays as forms of “cultural heritage”, thereby unwittingly transforming what had been considered merely “cultural heritage” into a neo-pagan religious movement.

its Discontents, [pp.992–993]
The Institute of Russian Literature of the USSR Academy of Sciences sponsored the circulation of the Book of Veles, a text that remains crucial in practicing the 'ancient' Slavic religion:
Boris Rebinder sent materials on the Book of Veles to the Department of Old Russian Literature of the Institute of Russian Literature of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1993, his book was published in Ukrainian, containing the apologetics of the Book of Veles. In the USSR, the "Book of Veles" became widely known thanks to the program article “Vityazi” (1971) by member of the "Russian Party" poet Igor Kobzev, who was fond of Russian paganism and contrasted it with "forcibly implanted" Christianity, which allegedly caused irreparable harm to the original Russian culture.

"The Führer said, raising his voice: ‘A THOUSAND YEARS OF CHRISTIAN HISTORY CANNOT SIMPLY BE ERASED FROM THE HISTORY OF THE GERMAN PEOPLE. I broke off relations with Ludendorff because his wife believed that National Socialism should found a new religion. I always told my party leaders that I did not want to become a religious reformer. I do not intend to do so and will not do so. For the same reason I broke off relations with Arthur Dinter and Reventlow."

Josef Heisler was a Czech journalist and Soviet defector who, later in his life, wrote several books on the threat of Communism in the West.
He is most likely the Soviet official whom B'nai B'rith columnist David Weissman was referring to when he stated "A former Soviet General claims that Joseph Stalin is of Jewish ancestry" in 1953. [Reference]
In 1932, Heisler began using the pseudonym "Joseph Bernard Hutton" as he fled to Britain after being exiled from former Czechoslovakia. It is currently unclear when exactly he defected from the Soviet Union.
Heisler stated in his book 'The Private Life of Joseph Stalin' that “the name Dzhugashvili discloses that Stalin had Jewish blood in his veins. He neither confirmed nor denied this. How many generations ago the Dzhugashvili-Stalin family practised the Jewish faith is difficult to say.”

Alfred Rosenberg's mythus was not endorsed by the NSDAP
Before Hitler secured power in Germany, Alfred Rosenberg independently published his new book 'The Myth of the Twentieth Century' in 1930. Due to its harsh anti-Church/anti-ecclesiastical material, this sparked some confusion with the Vatican. However, it was later explained by Hitler as early as 1932 that the publishing of the book occurred without his knowledge:
“...the publication of Rosenberg’s Mythus, which happened without my knowledge, was inadvisable.”
— Adolf Hitler (Wagener: Hitler Memoirs of a Confidant, p.280)
Thus, the Holy See was immediately informed early on that:
"...the Chancellor [Hitler] expressed his opinion of Rosenberg's views by saying that his book [The Myth of the 20th Century], which had been placed on the INDEX OF FORBIDDEN BOOKS, had no cultural value and that its high circulation was due solely to the opposition of the German bishops. The Chancellor himself never shared the theses of this book. But the German episcopate has unjustifiably made them the basis of the National Socialist program and has therefore anathematized them. The Chancellor CANNOT be held responsible for this.”
— Franz von Papen in his letter to the Holy See ambassador von Bergen on April 7th, 1934. [Citation]

🎄The biblical significance of Christmas trees
As we enter the twelve days of Christmas, there are always those who ask what is the purpose of having a Christmas tree? Broadly, putting up a pine tree this season is supposed to remind us of the tree of life — a well-known symbol of the Father (Pro. 13:12, Rev. 22:1-2).
The apostle Peter tells us, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Pet. 2:24) - The cross here is symbolically described as a tree which carried the son of Man who died for our sins.
Why the pine tree specifically? Ironically, it's one of the most triangular-types out there and was chosen for a reason, it is symbolic for the Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is widely accepted that Martin Luther was the first to add lights onto the tree which he thought represented the light of Christ. (Tikkanen, A. Encyclopedia Britannica)
Another long-standing tradition exists of placing a star on the very top of the pine tree, this is the star of Bethlehem which the magi, or wise men, followed to find a newborn king who was called Christ. (Matt. 2:2-5)

Nietzsche, the supposed philosopher of National Socialism, managed to write on a postcard in 1889 that his debt owed to society was exterminating Anti-Semites:
“Although you [Franz Overbeck] have so far demonstrated little faith in my ability to pay, I yet hope to demonstrate that I am somebody who pays his debts - for example, to you I am just having all anti-Semites shot.”

Many underestimate or overlook the influences on Hitler's Mein Kampf, but upon closer inspection, the book is loaded with biblical references from both the old and new testaments.
On the first page of Mein Kampf, which dwells on Hitler's plans for the annexation of Austria into the greater Motherland, he says the phrase “The plow will then become the sword, and the tears of war will produce our daily bread for generations to come.”
This sentiment is taken partly from the Old Testament (Joel 3:10 "Beat your plowshares into swords", see Isaiah 2:4) and the New Testament, specifically the sermon on the mount (Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread").

Bolshevism from Moses to Lenin: fan-fiction, not authentic conversations
➣ Bolshevism from Moses to Lenin is a fictional account of conversations between Adolf Hitler and Dietrich Eckart. Historians such as Dr. Mikael Nilsson, Dr. Margaret Plewnia, and even Richard Steigmann-gall reject their authenticity.
“It is uncertain how much of the dialogue in Eckart's book is complete fiction and how much of it is based on memories of actual conversations between them. Much of it is undoubtedly entirely fictional. The most thorough analysis of Der Bolschewismus von Moses bis Lenin can be found in Margarete Plewnia's biography of Eckart entitled Auf dem Weg zu Hitler (On the Road to Hitler).”
– Dr. Mikael Nilsson, Christianity in Hitler's National Socialism pp.112-113
➣There are quite a bit of contradictions between the Hitler found in Eckart's book and the one found in Mein Kampf, namely the fact that BFMTL presents him as a spiritual Anti-Semite, rather than a racial one. The rejection of the apostle Paul notably does not appear in any of Hitler's speeches, and contradicts his statements that he made in private to Otto Wagener and various priests that he spoke to in his earliest days. This isn't to doubt that Eckart, a Catholic mystic, was a severely influential man to Hitler. Arguably, he was one of the most influential men in National Socialism ever.
Richard Steigmann-gall said in his book, “("Bolshevism from Moses to Lenin: a conversation between Adolf Hitler and myself"), [was] written shortly before his [Eckart's] death in 1923. Although scholars have pointed to the importance of this book as an early instance of Nazi ideology, they generally overlook its strong religious overtones. It is most likely that Hitler in fact held no such conversation with Eckart, these are probably spurious conversations with the Nazi leader.”
In conclusion, while much of Eckart's influence on Hitler is severely understated, his book "Bolshevism: From Moses to Lenin" was merely fan fiction and nothing more. For further reference, read Dr. Margaret Plewnia's exposé in her book "Auf dem Weg zu Hitler. Der 'völkische' Publizist Dietrich Eckart."
