There'll be another episode of Decline & Fall out later today where we'll be devoting an hour to the tariff discussion and it's attendant consequences.
In all seriousness if the DPRK troops were in Kursk in combat roles it is entirely in line with the mutual defence treaty that exists between People's Korea and Russia. And if they were there in combat roles it means that the DPRK armed forces just played their part in destroying a force armed and trained by US/British imperialism so I believe the term used these days is "based".

Debuting tonight on the channel its the first attempt at documentary making that I've engaged in. This film tells the story of the recent demolition of 600 flats in three tower blocks on the Wyndford Estate in Glasgow. The film situates this scandal within the wider framework of the housing crisis and the crisis of British imperialism.

The post below is forwarded from the Ukrainian leak channel 'Rezident'

⚡️⚡️⚡️ #Инсайд
Our source in the General Staff reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot hold the remaining bridgeheads in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, the enemy is simply grinding down our reserves, and we are forced to send new forces every 12 hours. Combat commanders insist on the senseless waste of Ukrainian forces, but Syrsky answers dryly that such an order is to hold the destroyed settlements until the end.

Trumps rhetoric about how the rest of the world is ripping off the USA is repulsive and clueless at the same time. US imperialism exists like a vampire, leeching off the economies of the entire world upon both their resources and their labour for many decades now. That is the essence of imperialism, it is pure parasitism that hollows out nations before moving on to suck the lifeblood from somewhere else. Trump and his gang don't even really understand this as they think of US power in very crude terms. The US ruling class do though and that is why Trump will ultimately fail but in trying to leap back in time to the 1880s he will reveal contradictions inherent in the system that will cause the massive recession that began in 2008 to return with vengeance.

The Russian social-chauvinists (headed by Plekhanov), refer to Marx’s tactics in the war of 1870; the German (of the type of Lensch, David and Co.) to Engels’ statement in 1891 that in the event of war against Russia and France together, it would be the duty of the German Socialists to defend their fatherland; and lastly, the social-chauvinists of the Kautsky type, who want to reconcile and legitimatise international chauvinism, refer to the fact that Marx and Engels, while condemning war, nevertheless, constantly, from to 1870-1871 and 1876-1877, took the side of one or another belligerent state once war had broken out.

All these references are outrageous distortions of the views of Marx and Engels in the interest of the bourgeoisie and the opportunists, in just the same way as the writings of the Anarchists Guillaume and Co. distort the views of Marx and Engels in justification of anarchism. The war of 1870-1871 was a historically progressive war on the part of Germany until Napoleon III was defeated; for the latter, together with the tsar, had oppressed Germany for many years, keeping her in a state of feudal disintegration. But as soon as the war developed into the plunder of France (the annexation of Alsace and Lorraine), Marx and Engels emphatically condemned the Germans. And even at the beginning of that war Marx and Engels approved of the refusal of Bebel and Liebknecht to vote for credits and advised the Social-Democrats not to merge with the bourgeoisie, but to uphold the independent class interests of the proletariat. To apply the appraisal of this bourgeois-progressive and national-liberating war to the present imperialist war means mocking at truth. The same applies with still greater force to the war of 1854-1855, and to all the wars of the nineteenth century, when there was no modern imperialism, no ripe objective conditions for Socialism, and no mass Socialist parties in any of the belligerent countries, i.e., none of the conditions from which the Basle Manifesto deduced the tactics of “proletarian revolution” in connection with a war between the great powers.

Whoever refers today to Marx’s attitude towards the wars of the epoch of the progressive bourgeoisie and forgets Man’s statement that “the workers have no fatherland,” a statement that applies precisely to the epoch of the reactionary, obsolete bourgeoisie, to the epoch of the socialist revolution, shamelessly distorts Marx and substitutes the bourgeois for the socialist point of view.

The British ruling class have finally been pushed to the point where even the most reactionary of them are calling for nationalisation of steel. Saving the jobs of Scunthorpe steel workers is welcome of course but nationalisation under capitalism will provide no long term solution. Only a planned economy can revitalise steel production as part of a comprehensive reindustrialisation programme.

Ursula Von Der Leyen babbling and pandering to the zionists are yet another reminder that the achievements of the enlightenment do not and cannot belong to the decaying and rotten bourgeoisie. The drive towards a world based on reason can never be realised under capitalism due to its profoundly irrational and destructive outbursts. Reason and rationality can only be fully developed under socialism.

One must never underestimate the ability of the capitalist class to misunderstand their own system. As I have mentioned numerous times before the phenomena of Trump whining about how "unfair" global trade is the USA is not new. A faction of the British ruling class went through the same process in the 1890s and with similar actions being taken as a result such as tariff wars etc. Trump's return to the Presidency represented a crisis of confidence within ruling class circles and there are some within the US ruling class who know they can't continue in the same old way but are clueless as to what they should do next. It must also be emphasised that Trump did not invent protectionism, Biden also had very protectionist economic policies, because it represents a drift away from the (inappropriately named) "free trade" model so beloved of the US ruling class in the 1990s and 2000s. The problem the US ruling class has is that the deindustrialisation is too far gone and they cannot escape the consequences of this now. The full blown class warfare that some of us have predicted will now be waged upon the working class of the imperial core nations as the ruling class is forced into the realisation that they must now attempt to destroy our living standards to reinvigorate the system domestically speaking. This will spark destabilisation not seen in over forty years.
