Following the approval of the operational activity and the guidance of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, the Air Force now (Friday) attacked terrorist targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in Yemen in the Houthi-controlled ports of Hodeidah and Salif with the aim of thwarting the activity there.

"I am here in the Air Force pit, with the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, the Air Force Commander and our excellent teams.

🔴Is Israel stuck in old perceptions in the face of a new regional reality?

Col. (res.) Dr. Jacques Neriah, a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign and Security Affairs, warns : "There are two conflicting perceptions here - the Israeli approach of 'whatever cannot be done by force will be done by more force,' versus the Arab approach that says: 'The word "wish" does not build a house.' In other words, continuing with force will not bring results."

Yonatan Duhoch-Halevi, a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign and Security Affairs, reveals: "What Jasser Barghouti says is fascinating - he describes how in 2017, the exposure of an Israeli spy network allowed Hamas to turn Shin Bet agents into double agents. They received money from the Shin Bet, but in practice they worked against us."

According to him, already in 2019 Hamas released a video in which an agent was exposed who manipulated its operator – but the Shin Bet did not internalize the seriousness of the matter. "The issue of fraud in the period before the war was not examined, and it must be examined now," he emphasized.

Duhoh-Halevi adds: "On the eve of the attack, Khaled Meshaal delivered messages to Israel that sounded like calming messages - very similar to the messages from the Egyptian army before the Yom Kippur War. And there is another interesting detail - about 8 hours after the start of the attack, a Palestinian agency affiliated with Hamas published a message from the Egyptian mediator, according to which Hamas was not responsible for the attack. This created the impression as if Egypt knew - and tried to disavow it."
