Forbes magazine highlights that the crash of an F-35, the only stealth fighter exported by the United States, into the hands of the Houthis—who were believed to have makeshift and weak air defenses—would have been a significant embarrassment and negatively impacted future export deals.
The magazine also points out that the dangerous proximity of surface-to-air missiles that targeted the American F-35 over Yemen could have implications for Israel, which utilizes this type of aircraft.
