I originally drew this just as a meme — a parody of the comic about Adam and Lucifer. But then I came up with an idea for an AU.
In this version, Sprout is twisted. He is self-aware. He understands the world. And, ironically, the only one who understands him is the one toon he despises: Dandy.
Dandy is half-twisted. There is a connection between him and Sprout that can’t be explained. He hears him, understands him. He understands his rage, his fear, his despair. And he is the only one who knows that Sprout is alive, thinking, and capable of communicating. And he tells no one about it.
He hides Sprout from everyone. He keeps him like a secret. Like a treasure. He is the only one who can communicate with him — and he doesn’t want to share this with anyone. Not because he’s afraid, but because he craves being the only one.
And Sprout… he knows this. He hates this dependence. He hates how Dandy looks at him. How he smiles, like everything is normal. How he touches him, as if it's care. But somewhere deep inside, he is attached. It’s not friendship. It’s not rivalry. It’s something broken, painfully sincere...
