The bottom of that icerberg
Many talk about that famous iceberg phenomenon—that is, the public doesn’t see the background of anyone successful, delusioned by the individual’s hype, or the tip of the iceberg.
It is banal to bring about such a notion, but regardless of how hackneyed this quote gets, it still remains pragmatic.
My friend Ozodbek is sharing the bottom of his own iceberg in his new channel.
As his close friend who witnessed his growth, I can assure he has a rather unique story to tell, the one that hugely shaped his admissions journey respectively. He will share everything from small tips for personal statements to even full-fledged podcasts with other top admits.
Thus, dont be delusioned by the tip of the iceberg. Dare to look beyond, for it is way more interesting.

From the land that forgets to the place that remembers. Nietzsche would smile, Camus would nod—but forget them. You did the improbable. You turned into mammoth, ahaha.

In my eighteen years on this little planet, I never found myself obsessing over TV shows.
Of course, as a kid, I might have watched a show or two, but most of the content I consumed came from external sources, with YouTube being one.
However, I broke my streak. I watched an Uzbek TV show—not necessarily consciously, but because my friend Jamshidbek was on TV recently. This is the show he was in, by the way. And this single ten-minute excerpt taught me tons about Uzbek culture and why it keeps devolving, again and again.
First, in Western shows, journalists are highly educated. They are not on screen just to put up some shit-show. They need to be competent. They need to stay cool. And above all, they need to listen. But the showrunners on that Uzbek TV show were doing anything but listening with a solemn mind. They made the whole thing chaotic, uninteresting, and very fake. I mean, no one acts like that in real life. Inauthenticity is palpable.
Second, showrunners should not be arrogant. They should listen, but that doesn’t happen in Uzbek shows, I guess. At one point, Jamshidbek claimed that he doesn’t listen to music because it basically screws up your dopamine system, making you feel miserable. And that lady who is apparently a respectful guest? She calls him too immature and not enlightened enough for such notion. Like, ma’am, I wonder who is enlightened and who is not here…
There are so many aspects I could bring up, but I’d run out of my fingers trying to count them all. And you guys probably wouldn’t read a long post anyway.
But here’s the message: I couldn’t care less about such shows if it weren’t for me. The worst part is that these so-called highly enlightened individuals, production team included, are feeding this brainrot to the whole Uzbek nation.
Next time you come across a short-minded, conservative Uzbek, you can put Uzbek TV shows at the top of your blame list. As long as our people keep consuming this level of mental decay, be ready to embrace only the ashes of “kelajagi buyuk O’zbekiston.”
Kamoliddin was right, after all: adequate people don’t watch the Uzbek TV.

Reading is hard, indeed. Discipline is even harder.
In the past, many used to tell me one seemingly cliché saying all the time: get uncomfortable, leave your comfort zone.
I was maybe immature to crack the crux of the quote at that time, but now I get it.
Each second spent feeling the discomfort adds to the progress. I hate every bit of time when I am in the gym. Comparing myself with others, I feel smaller, weaker, and skinnier, but the path to growth is made up of hundreds of days full of such emotion.
The same in running. I have been running for over a year now (though not consistently or intensively), and I haven't met anyone who actually enjoys the process of running. Running is painful. It gives muscle contractions, soreness, and much more. But many avid runners have come to appreciate one aspect of it: the pain. For they know that with pain, with discomfort, comes better health.
To taste the true flavor of success, we should first smell the scent of hardship.
And so, our trip to Baghdad continues...

I am organizing a little reading challenge to pull off the academic comeback. I'd be happy to see more people join us.
We will be reading one book a week and discussing in meetings. I will also open a classroom for the reflections. Failing to fulfill the tasks even once will get you removed from the challenge. (Challenge is a challenge).
Thus, if you are interested, dm me your ielts or sat score (I just need to make sure your english is good enough, nothing more). There is no any other requirement since I believe we will be down by half the size the next week. It is also the reason why I am taking more people.

This post sparked a sudden debate between two niche communities on Uzbek Telegram.
My honest take on the whole thing? The whole idea of comparing these two is rather useless. I don't think there is any point in even discussing which one is harder or vice versa. After all, you are not comparing trains and trucks and concluding which one is better. There simply is no reason to even think about.
These two tests literally serve different purposes. IELTS tests your language proficiency, while SAT your academic one. And arguing outrageously over which one is better is the last thing you would want to do.
Don't waste your energy and nerves over some futile debates. Save your energy for the coming iftar instead. Have a good one everyone!
