Incidentally Tolkien and I were born in the same city, of course we were born 106 years apart, him in 1892 and myself in 1998. Now I do know how far this is true but the story goes that while Tolkien was still here in South Africa as a small child he was bitten by an African Tarantula which we here call Baboon Siders. I am not sure how the name originated but I suspect it is because these spiders are so big, hairy and they have many legs so they look like a baboon's hand. Anyway you can imagine that to be bitten such a big spider leaves a deep impression on a small child and apparently this event is what eventually inspired all the giant spiders in Tolkien's novels. Again I do not know how far this is true but if it is true then that is South Africa's contribution to Great Literature; Colossal Arachnids

On Tuesday, April 22, a global "Day of Rage" is expected to take place in support of the Palestinians. In the meantime, many calls are being identified online to hold protest events, demonstrations and disruptions in a variety of countries around the world, led by pro-Palestinian activists.
These protests and demonstrations could develop into violent incidents against Israelis, along with concerns that independent terrorist supporters/attackers may try to integrate into protest centers in order to carry out an attack.
