Woden's Folk

The name 'Woden' is based upon the root-sound 'wod' which means 'frenzy', 'divine madness' or 'intoxication'. What should be remembered is that this is not just a 'name', it is the essence of the God named Woden. To invoke the High God using this name invokes the 'Woda-Force', the force of frenzy and intoxication. To sound a word is to invoke the force that the sound bears. If we wish to invoke a different side to Woden then we must use one of his names suited to that which we try to invoke.

Sich der traditionellen Regeln bewusst zu werden, bedeutet nicht, sie passiv zu akzeptieren und zu versuchen, weise zu wirken. Stattdessen müssen diese Regeln auf alle Aspekte des eigenen Lebens angewendet werden. Ein Lebensstil ist nicht käuflich. Es kommt aus den Lehren des Leidens, der Disziplin und der Liebe. Denken, Handeln und Zweck müssen in einen Lebensstil umgewandelt werden. Wir müssen uns durch unseren Stil und nicht durch unsere Worte qualifizieren. Disziplin ist der Wille, sein Ziel durch Ausdauer zu erreichen. Ein Krieger muss jeden Tag nicht nur körperlich, sondern auch geistig trainieren und die Liebe als Kraft nutzen, die ihn zu allen höheren Zielen führt. Alle Handlungen dürfen nicht aus egoistischen Gründen, sondern auf unpersönliche Weise ausgeführt werden. Disziplin muss als eine Investition in sich selbst betrachtet werden, nicht nur auf körperlicher Ebene, sondern auch im spirituellen Sinne; um sowohl die innere als auch äußere Bestimmung des eigenen Willens und Geistes widerzuspiegeln. Nur durch die Befolgung dieser Grundsätze kann ein traditioneller Lebensstil erreicht und das innere Gleichgewicht wiederhergestellt werden, das in der modernen Welt verloren gegangen ist.

The Dog Stage. This is the final step and where one would want to be. He can finally see that none of “him” (thoughts, urges, emotions) is going anywhere. It is time to work together, direct wisely, like a man with his dog or a leader does with his men. Many may ask why a dog and not a wolf. After all, wolves are looked upon with great awe in our ways. The reason would be that wolves are wild. They can't be tamed. A dog on the other hand, can. They have a similar ferocity yet they listen. They are loyal and will die to protect you. They are our friends. When one finally becomes “friends” (like has been said before) with these aspects of themselves, when he makes them like dogs, he becomes whole, Hagal, the Self, etc. What I find ironic, and Serrano points this out, is that dog spelled backwards is god. This man, this Aryan perhaps would be like Him, like nature itself, working in perfect unison, synthesized, as he was always meant to, but just briefly lost his way.

The Wolf Stage. At this time, one begins to awaken to the fact that they have to confront certain aspects and gain control. The fox though does not like that he has been identified. A change takes place and we see a wolf emerge.This wolf begins to wreak havoc on their lives. Walls are put up and a great war begins with this enemy who seems to never go away. Back and forth they fight. Some days he wins and others the beast. Yet there comes a time where a truce takes place. One finally comes to the realization that the wolf will never go away. It's part of him. It's now time to turn him into something else

The Fox Stage. This is where the vast majority of people find themselves. They go through life being ruled by their thoughts, urges and emotions. They have ups and downs and can never seem to find balance. The interesting part is that they are completely unaware of it. Words like balance have never occurred to them. Just like the fox is sneaky, will steal, and never even seen, so will these people have their power stolen from them like a thief in the night continuously by these parts of themselves. The “fox” rules their lives.

THE FOX, WOLF, AND DOG
This is another brief topic that was mentioned in one of Serrano's works. As he puts it, they are initiatory degrees, but leaves any details out. This will be an attempt to explain it in probably an entirely different way, but hopefully will be helpful to some. This concept will explain a three stage inner transformation process. I feel the animals themselves fit quite well and hopefully you will agree. To add, you will see that this also correlates nicely with alchemy, individuation, and what has been discussed so far with Irmansol and the Hagal Rune.

Piety in the Modern Folkish Movement
Piety, the reverence for the divine, takes many forms within the Folkish path. It's not just about dusty rituals or rote memorization. It's a living connection, a constant dialogue with the powers that be.
In our modern context, piety can manifest in:
Daily Devotion: Simple acts of remembrance - a moment of silence for the ancestors, a small offering to the land spirits, or speaking the names of the Gods.
Community Building: Participating in kindred gatherings, sharing lore, and supporting fellow Folk. Our connection to each other strengthens our connection to the Gods.
Craft and Creation: Using our hands to honor the Gods - whether through woodworking, music, writing, or any creative pursuit. This is a form of offering in itself.
Land Stewardship: Respecting the earth, recognizing its sacredness, and acting as responsible caretakers. The land is our temple.
Self-Improvement: Striving for personal growth, embodying the virtues of our ancestors, and living with integrity. This is the truest offering we can make.

Long ago a Northern Wind swept across the world carrying the ancient whispers of him who hefts the spear. The Great Wanderer riding roughshod across the hills and valleys of our ancestral lands with one message. Arise my Sons and Daughters! Wotan in all of his grand fury screams at us from deep within our being. His longing has long resounded within our souls, and those of us who have felt those sharp prods of his mighty spear know where our destiny lies. Yet even with all that Wotan has done to guide us along his stark path, I do not believe we would be where we are today as a Folk, without men like Stephen McNallen. He has brought the Old Ways to life again for us Men and Women of Vinland for over fifty years, and played an integral role in the revitalization of true Folkish worship. With his latest book The Spear he takes the accumulation of those many years in the struggle, and distills them into a concise manual for Right Action.
This manual is built around the activities and pursuits of the Wotan Network which is- A group of men and women working to invoke the might of the Germanic God Wotan for the Awakening of the European-descended peoples. With the understanding that this Awakening is utterly necessary for our survival, our dignity, and the high Destiny that is ours... if only we will grasp it! This is done in an engaging format for both the novice and lifelong member of the struggle, which incorporates a wealth of knowledge with practical applications to achieve results for our Folk. I personally found that the Runic way in which he lays out the steps gives the book a remarkable depth, especially for those who are looking to bring their will to power in their current surroundings. Which must be our ultimate goal. Far too much is said on what is wrong with where we stand, or what someone else should be doing, but I truly respect those that take action and allow it so speak for what is to be done by us who follow the demands of Wotan.
This is what truly sets The Spear apart from most other books, and the main reason I was certain it needed to have a review in The Answer. This book takes the Virtues of our Noble Heritage and uses them to guide the reader towards a truly worthy life. A life which embodies the pursuits of our Gods and Goddesses as we walk through Midgard, taking us in the True direction of the unstoppable Gungnir. For naught in this world is easy, but this life was gifted to us by Wotan himself. So how could we not give every last moment of it back to him by joining the struggle for the existence of his children? Herein lives the essence of all that we are as Noble Sons and Daughters of Wotan. We are those who have heard the ancient call and fettered our entire selves to that wind-rocked tree. Thus, binding ourselves to the front lines of this eternal struggle for true ascendance as both individuals and as a Folk. May we find the strength to ride this Terrible Tree until we finally grasp that which we so longingly searched for. True independence for our Folk.

The revival of Germanic religion in the modern world, and specifically the return of Wotan to the spiritual landscape, has strong social and political implications. Like all native and tribal religions, it is bound to the history and welfare of a particular ethnos and ethos. Many of us were hoping that Donald Trump would win the presidency, and the fairy godmother of the political realm came through for us. That's the good news; I for one support many or most of his major policy decisions. But politicians are...well, politicians. Trump in particular is a deal maker; the fact that he often makes deals that I like is not the point. In particular, his adhesion to the Israeli state and to the hugely immoral "settler" movement disgusts me.
We should support Trump when he is right, and oppose him when he is wrong. But in the long run, no politician will save us. We who follow Wotan, or Odin, or Woden - He of Many Names - must remain vigilant, practice our faith, honor our Gods, and be nobody's fool.

Assume that we will not be able to regulate it. Assume also that we will not be able to avoid it.
We should take not a step further into this emerging future until we have armored ourselves against the horrors it promises to bring.
Many who refuse to deal with the issue will be left behind by history; many more will succumb utterly to those abominations and lose their humanity. It would be comforting to think of think of that as a poetic hyperbole, had both ends of this degenerative process not already begun.
We few will retain our humanity, and our sovereignty, only to the degree that we will have set the boundaries of this new man-machine relationship being forced upon us. Until we do, all of our worldly knowledge is, at this moment in history, obsolete.
Therefore let us define those boundaries with all the dogmpatic simplicity of the most intolerant religious fanatics we can imagine ourselves to be. This is an appropriate time for absolutist declarations. So doing we rule where the adversary cannot go.
