My commentary: There is a great deal of difference between Discordianism, including its subgenius cult, and pure Chaos Magick philosophy and practice. Discordianism pulls from the illusion that causing disorder, especially within society, in the form of anarchy, and distorting the norms of society, feeds the Eristic Principle or apparent disorder underlying the illusory sense of order of ourselves and our relationship with the world. Smash our false reality because "nothing is true, everything is permitted" is a basic principle of Discordianism. Whereas Chaos Magic philosophy rejects fixed models of reality and emphasizes the power of individual belief and intent, but does not endeavor to generate chaos and disorder, rather to harvest the natural chaos of the universe already present. Hence, their sigil of the Symbol of Chaos (also known as the Chaos Star) comprises eight arrows in a radial pattern. Designed to collect Chaos energy and bend it to their own will and desire to change the universe. Discordians generate discord "Eris" as their power, while Chaos Magicians manipulate the chaos that underlies all things using sigilizations and their own alphabet of desire. -In my humble opinion.
