1. There are people among us who were born in the 1950s and 1960s!
2. They were raised in the 1960s.
3. They went to school in the 1970s.
4. They married in the 1980s.
5. They worked in the 1980s and 1990s, and many of them are still working today!
6. They changed their worldview in the 1990s.
7. They "woke up" in the 2000s.
8. They were amazed in the 2010s.
9. And they aren't giving up in the 2020s!!!
10. They have experienced:
– almost 7 different decades,
– 2 different centuries,
– 2 different millennia.
11. They experienced the transition from the lack of a landline phone, then a rotary phone in the hallway, to a smartphone in each hand.
12. They continued from ordering a long-distance phone call to video calls to any corner of the world.
13. From slide film and slideshows to YouTube.
14. From vinyl records to online music.
15. From handwritten letters to email, WhatsApp, and social networks.
16. From listening to the news on the radio, from the lack of a television at home to black-and-white television and later high-definition television.
17. They used to go to the "video store" and now they watch Netflix.
18. They took photos on film, knew how to develop photos, and stored them in photo albums.
19. They witnessed the beginnings of computers, punch cards, floppy disks, and USB sticks, and today they have gigabytes and terabytes in their hands—on their smartphones or iPads.
20. They wore miniskirts, maxiskirts, Bermuda shorts, and leggings.
21. They walked in felt boots, skied cross-country, and today their children snowboard or alpine ski.
22. They drove cars with manual transmission, no power steering, no ABS, no seatbelts or airbags, no heated seats, no air conditioning—and the same tires all year round.
23. And now they drive electric scooters, unicycles, scooters, and cars controlled by computers.
24. They escaped polio, meningitis, smallpox, H1N1 flu, and West Nile fever, and they survived the 2020 pandemic.
25. Yes! These people have been through a lot, but what wonderful and exciting lives they have had and continue to have!
26. This generation can rightly call itself a Special Generation!
27. Those born in the 50s/60s, who had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood.
28. They are, in a sense, an "abracadabra," in the truest sense of the word.
29. This generation has experienced and survived more than any other generation in human history, in all dimensions of life. And this generation has adapted to all the changes!!!
CONCLUSION: Applause for all those born in the 50s/60s and still alive today!
