I'm reading about beer and preparing new lectures on the Germans of St. Louis. I ordered a Miller Lite at the bar: my first sample of that brew. A woman stands beside me. I say it is my first Miller. She says, "Gross! I only drink Pepsi."
I have so many shocking conversations. An old woman with purple hair had expressed interest in Indian wars before the lecture. After the lecture that concerned the Creek War and the explicitly genocidal goals of William Weatherford and Tecumseh, she expressed satisfaction and then said she wished the Creeks had won. I find these conversations apocalyptic in the sense that they reveal the true nature of things: the suicidal ideation of the woke.
I stand next to my friend the Cajun musician who has a spot at the Jazz Festival beside Dave Matthews and I introduce him as the bona fide, true Louisianian. He turns and says I'm a true Louisianian, too. I feel genuinely loved.
Congressman Dickstein of NY argued against immigration restriction. We now know he was in the pay of the NKVD. It was enlightening to document the various arguments and see how the conversation and the opinions haven't changed. The refreshing thing about 1924 is that nobody was being canceled, and it was all spoken aloud in Congress.
Ok. I've got a decent collection of Congressional debates on the Johnson-Reed Act of 1924. I think that book will be accepted as a "compilation" now.
He's a former congressman of 20 years.
The guy Tucker Carlson interviewed about 9/11 put his neck on the slab and declared war on the CIA. I've never seen anything like it. It was unequivocal.
I am now editing debates from the Congressional Record and learning the names and parties of Senators long dead.
I put weeks of work into book projects only for the publisher to reject them on "catalog integrity" grounds with no specific reasons given. I've got enough experience now to know what must be done to get around the problem: supplemental materials. It just takes longer and much more work...

Somehow dinner conversation turned to Holocaust stories. One lady had a 102 year old Auschwitz survivor who had been deliberately infected with cancer, but had miraculously survived. Volunteer German women would beat in inmates every night and the girls with the darkest bruises would be killed the next day. At first, they told each other the bruises weren't so bad, but then they began to be truthful as the numbers dwindled. The survivor's husband tried to get his wife to stop her visits to high schools, but nobody could curtail her mission. A table full of elderly adults piously nodded.

While lecturing on Huey Long, I was talking about the petulant and insulting nicknames he gave his enemies and mistakenly called Long "Trump." The whole place roared with laughter, and since then all the leftists, who had their doubts about me, are calling me over and winking at me and bringing up the "Freudian slip." They don't know it's all complimentary. 😁

"What will they say when they see their pension funds bankrupt?"
"Pensions are unheard of in my generation."
"Oh, really?"

Is it possible that the business world thought Trump was bluffing about tariffs? I know I'm not the only one who wants to see Pat Buchanan's look of satisfaction right now.
