It doesn't matter what they call them. The reality is that they have raised their status to the level of God, thus rendering them 'Taghut'. And all Messengers of Allah were sent to admonish people to refrain from Taghoot.
وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَسُولًا أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّاغُوتَ
"And verily We have sent in every nation a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and shun Taghut."
Two things need to be understood here:
1. Those nations who venerated the "Taghut" did not consider it to be "Taghut" i.e. some thing that had been wrongly raised beyond its level and deified. Rather, they thought their actions were correct, and that their deities deserved to be venerated in the way they did.
What they thought did not change the ruling. "Taghut" was 'Taghut' even if they didn't consider it as such.
2. Each nation was first and foremost asked to eschew the "Taghut" being worshiped in their midst, otherwise they would not be considered believers, even if they rejected the "Tawaghit" of all the other nations.
The pagan Arabs had to give up on Laat, Manat and Uzza, to be believers. It would not have been enough if they rejected the worship of Zeus, Apollo, Athena, and even the worship of Jesus, but did not give up on their own deities.
👉 So if people have taken up Ali (ra), Fatimah (ra), Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani (rh) etc as "Tawaghit" (plural of Taghut) it doesn't matter what they call them (Imam, saint etc.). And it doesn't benefit them that they reject the worship of all other false deities around the world; they will not be believers until they give up Taghut-ifying their invoked saints.

Neither did the past Mushrikeen call their deities "Taghoot" (something raised far beyond its level), despite that the first prerequisite for Eeman mentioned by Allah was:
من يكفر بالطاغوت ويؤمن بالله فقد استمسك بالعروة الوثقى
Do you think that the Mushriks could have gotten away by saying, yeah sure, we disbelieve in the Taghut; but Laat, Manaat and Uzza are not Taghut to us, rather they are our great intercessors (Al-Gharaaniq al-'Ula) - would that have been enough for them to be considered Muslim or Mu'min ?
Of course not, because it is not the words that matter, as much as the actuality and substance of the belief.
So it is preposterous and totally in contradiction with this Ayah to hold the view that as long as they don't call him "God", they remain Muslims even if they believe that he is the greatest provider of succor (al-Gauth al-A'zam) or like the Rafida when they refer to their Imams (even to non "infallibles" like Abu al-Fadhl al-'Abbas) as the gate/fulfiller of ALL needs and wishes (Baab al-Hawaa`ij), they listen to the prayers of those who invoke them in any language and from any corner of the earth, they know whatever is happening on the earth and in the heavens, they can bless the barren with children, bring the dead to life, and forgive sins and etc.
They may not call them "Gods", but their words don't matter anyway, their actions do and judgment is based on the reality of a matter not the name given to it.
NOTE:
The Prophets, Ahlul Bayt and righteous of this Ummah can never be referred to as 'Tawaghit' (plural of Taghut' for a Taghut is someone that is worshipped besides Allah while being pleased with it. However, disbelieving in the WORSHIP of these great (and misused) figures is essential to ones Shahadah.

The reason for the outbreak of clashes was that a group of Druze went out to the airport road to block it, and they found themselves facing groups of angry Mujahideen brothers because of the insult to the status of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
