The new expressive redesign is finally incoming with the new Android 16 QPR1 beta!

Most of the changes we have previously leaked are now officialized by Google. As spotted on Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1, the presence of this new "expressive design" is all over the system.

Here's a small re-cap of what's to be expected in the upcoming build:
• adding of blur all over the system, such as the app drawer (source) and the launcher overview (source);
• new status bar icons, similar to the ones from iOS (source);
• reworked recents view page with a newer (and cleaner) interface (source);
• clock personalization and wallpaper effects for customizing further your setup (source).
• the long awaited quick settings shown in photos, in contrast to the many experiments done with dual-shade...

...and many more! It seems like developers are really working hard on making Pixel phone's interface more customizable and enjoyable for the end-user, catching up with the latest trends introduced by the different skins present in today's phones market.

🚨 WARNING: Some Pixel devices with May 2025 security patch got bootloader update that increments anti-rollback version for the bootloader.

This means that, after upgrading, you won't be able to downgrade to a lower version of Android ever again. This also implies that you'll have to flash a full OTA image again to avoid bricking in some situations

Following are the devices impacted by the incremental anti-rollback version:

Well. It's been a while actually... but here we're back with some new leaks for you!

Based on our extensive walkthrough over Google's design choices with their brand new MD3 "Expressive Design", here's a first peak at the new changes within Pixel's system apps, starting with... the Clock app!

The Clock's App UI went through a significal visual overhaul, featuring a fresh rasterized design, new fonts and switch buttons.

Moreover, the app is now 100% Jetpack Compose based.

Since Bad Apple clearly wasn't enough and we all know what you guys really want to see...

Here's a better showcase of our motora1n exploit running on a Pixel 7 Pro. The exploit automatically unlocks the bootloader, disables production mode, secure boot, and loads a different set of interesting scripts, going all the way through memes (brainrot) anddd.. DOOM!

The game runs natively and is entirely controlled via the phone's volume keys thanks to a special key handler :D

This is the latest iteration of the Recents' page. As you can clearly see, the whole page is now completely blurred and blends seamlessly with the wallpapers!

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: OneUI 8.0 LEAK

We've found a glaringly stupid security-hole. Turns out, their OTA server didn't bother checking if we were authorized before handing over internal testing builds. (Thanks, Samsung!)

Since we don't have an Samsung S25, we couldn't test it on our devices. But i guess porting would be quite easier now since Samsung deprecated their own RIL implementation (Finally, VoLTE will work in custom ROMs!)

What we've found while researching firmware?
1. Debug apps - you can literally change everything on your Samsung
IMEI? SN? Untrip knox? Yeah you can literally do everything

2. OneUI 8 features?
Well, this is more like OneUI 7.0 but with extra bugs

3. Performance fixes? More smoothness?
Hell nah, it's too hard for Samsung

And, as a present for you, we're sharing that firmware with you, because we know that Samsung will fix that security-hole very soon. Here you go:

Oh, I'm sorry for disinformation, actually you can change roundness by tapping on the clock. So they just removed slant option <strike>(because it looks gore)</strike>.

Though I don't get why they made it less obvious..

Google has recently removed some options from Custom Clock's Personalization Engine.

Now you can't change roundness and slant. It was too good to be true...

They also united the "weight" and "width" sliders into one. Bigger width means smaller weight, and so on.
