After India cancels cargo transit to third countries for Bangladesh using Indian land and airports, Bangladesh not only bans yarn import from India through land ports(Now India have to export via sea route, which makes it economically costly), it also bans import of duplex board, newsprint, kraft paper, cigarette paper, fish, yarn, potatoes, powdered milk, tobacco, radio and TV parts, bicycle and motor parts, Formica sheets, ceramicware, sanitaryware, stainless steelware, marble slabs and tiles, and mixed fabrics from India.

It opens up opportunities for Pakistan, ASEAN, China to step up and invest in these low-tech, light engineering industries to get into Bangladesh market. In November 2024, India's export to Bangladesh stood at $11.07 billion for previous 20 months. Bangladesh has been one of the top ten export market for India, which is in now open to competition and policy changes as the pro-India regime has fled in July revolution 2024.

⚡️🇵🇰 Perhaps most importantly, the people of Tirah are not passive observers. In response to the worsening situation, tribal elders have called a jirga for April 10, involving representatives from all local tribes. Their goal is to directly address the militant threat and prevent further violence. They are expected to send a united message to militant leaders: cease your activities or face tribal opposition. A public statement is also expected affirming that no tribe will be forced to relocate due to the actions of non-state actors.

What’s happening in Tirah is not just another security headline. It’s a struggle for peace in a place worn down by years of violence and manipulation. The people there deserve better than to be treated like props in a lazy or dishonest news cycle.

The reporting we’ve seen lately, rushed, one-sided, and completely devoid of local voices helps no one. It spits in the face of the very people it pretends to defend. It's not journalism; it's opportunism. And those who amplify this kind of content without checking facts or considering the full picture (whether out of ignorance or malice) aren’t helping anyone. Least of all, the people of Tirah.

PS: It's important to remember that Pakistan’s tribal areas are often left to govern themselves, with minimal sustained presence from the armed forces. This vacuum has, over the past two decades, been exploited by militant groups for various agendas. Local tribes, despite their resilience, are not equipped to push these groups out on their own, and many actually want intervention from federal forces. But once a semblance of peace returns, there's pressure to withdraw those forces so that tribal life can resume as it once was. This cycle of intervention and withdrawal creates exactly the kind of space that militants thrive in.

⚡️🇵🇰 Tirah Valley: Context Matters. A Closer Look at Recent Claims and Realities.

Recent claims circulating on low-quality Telegram channels and certain Twitter accounts have alleged that the Pakistani military has shelled civilian areas in Tirah Valley, killing a civilian after locals supposedly threw stones at an outpost. These claims, lacking credible verification and mostly echoed from social media chatter, deserve a more critical look, especially considering the complex and ongoing security situation in the region.

Tirah Valley is not a monolithic space, it is vast, mountainous, and deeply affected by decades of militant activity. While parts of the region have made significant progress toward peace, other areas remain volatile due to the entrenched presence of extremist groups such as Lashkar-e-Islam and the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group.

In fact, on March 31, Commander Ziaullah, a key figure associated with both groups, died of injuries sustained during recent clashes with Pakistani security forces. His death underscores the continued conflict between the state and militants who are actively destabilizing the region.

Just days before, on March 20, Lashkar-e-Islam imposed feudal-style restrictions on the local population in Tirah, banning beard styling, shaving, youth gatherings, and even storing songs on memory cards. Shopkeepers were also threatened and forced to lower the prices of essential goods. These are not the actions of a group interested in peace; they are coercive measures that leave civilians with little freedom or dignity.

Given this backdrop, it becomes clear why the state can not remain passive. The military’s presence in the valley is not about targeting civilians. It is about responding to a persistent militant threat. In fact, during Eid, the army was welcomed by locals while distributing humanitarian aid. Ramadan also passed peacefully in many parts of Tirah under the protection of security forces. Reports of tourists visiting parts of the region are another indication that the valley is not under blanket hostility, as falsely suggested.

To portray the area as suddenly hostile or being indiscriminately shelled by the army is to ignore this complexity and to ignore the very real violence being inflicted on locals by militant groups:

A young man named Sajid was recently abducted and killed by militants over allegations of espionage.

A girl struck by a stray celebratory bullet was misreported as a mortar victim.

Three civilians were executed in Shalobar Qambar Abad in January, while others were injured.

A well-respected elder, Haji Sher Mohammad, was killed, and militants threatened villagers during Friday prayers.

A youth was beheaded in December 2024.

A drone attack by militants in October 2023 killed two children and injured thirteen others, mostly minors.

These are not isolated events. They form a pattern of brutal intimidation and terror, yet they receive little to no attention from the same sources now accusing the state of violence.

⚡️🇵🇰 Major Counter-Terrorism Success in Karachi

In a joint intelligence-based operation, CTD Sindh and Pakistan Rangers have arrested three key terrorists affiliated with the Hafiz Gul Bahadur (HGB) group from Karachi’s Korangi area:

- Inam Ullah alias Lala
- Naeem Ullah alias Umar Zareen
- Muhammad Taib Khan

During the initial interrogation, the suspects confessed to their active involvement with the HGB group and admitted to carrying out multiple terrorist activities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The trio had recently relocated to Karachi with plans to expand the group’s terror network and operations in the city.

An Indian Air Force Jaguar crashed near Jamnagar, Gujarat. Pilot ejected safely. This is the second Jaguar crash in just a month (The last one went down on March 7th.)

The IAF still flies these aging strike jets, but back-to-back losses like this don’t inspire much confidence.
