Trump's " Golden" visa for $5 million shouldn't have approvals more than 1K and even if there is one Chinese, indians or Russian that gets to buy in. This is program will become a backdoor into America for the Chinese and their ilk. EB-5 used to cost $1 Million and the approvals for them used to to 1K and data of immigration statistics is public. This being a legal pathway allows the data to be public. Citizenship should never be for sale, and America isn't a economic zone. This is overall a bad idea and has the same effect as other types of legal pathways such as " skilled" migration or " asylum", both completely legal. That being said Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Greece, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and many other countries have " citizenship through investment" programs at various costs, most the (ab)users of this program is always Chinese followed by Russian no matter where they are implemented.
