He was a tank crew commander, platoon commander, and tank company commander. He trained at the 1st Gorky Tank School. After a month of training at the Gorky plant, in late November 1943 he was sent by echelon to the Kyiv region and directly participated in the battles for the liberation of Ukraine.

🚩 During the war, Nikolai Borisov covered at least four thousand kilometers. He participated in the liberation of Ukraine, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Germany. In one of the battles, he led the brigade headquarters with the banner out of encirclement. During the war, he destroyed ten tanks and self-propelled artillery pieces. He met Victory Day in Czechoslovakia. He retired in 1982 with the rank of colonel.

📌 For his achievements in service, he was awarded four orders: the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st and 2nd class, the Order of the Red Star, and the Order "For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR", 3rd class. We remember and are proud of our heroes!

Where did Helmanis get all this from? It turns out he regularly travels for PR to the combat zone with Ukrainian servicemen, and also with supporters of independent Ichkeria. They seem to have given him this.
