Ivy Bridge 5 for Summer 2025
As previously announced, we have reformatted our admissions course; it’s no longer a usual college admissions course where participants are familiarized with the process, and taught how to approach each component of their applications.
It’s now academically enriching “process” in the first place, with a heavy emphasis on select literature, critical and analytical thinking, creativity, and advanced writing on top of the ins and outs of the admissions process.
From the previous Ivy Bridge Courses, we had students getting into Harvard, Brown, Duke, Harvard, Vanderbilt, Colby, Denison, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, UToronto, NYUAD (2x) , DKU (3x), and NYUSH (3x).
The deadline to apply is May 10, but we’ll be selecting candidates on a rolling basis (first come, first serve).

The final announcement for the Ivy Bridge will be posted tomorrow!
I had to delete the previous one because of some operational issues!

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about extra-curricular activities! 🧐
There’s no good or bad extra curricular activity. But here are the things that matter:
1) Purpose
If your activity is something seemingly small, but is a multiplier (it will perpetrate something bigger and beneficial), then you shouldn’t hesitate to put it on. It won’t hurt you.
2) Relevance
Well, if you are an aspiring engineer but spent your high school years drawing or singing, it won’t make much sense. Sure, these are great activities too, but not the ones you would probably want to define you and shape your overall narrative. You need to do something relevant. If you want to become an economist, come up with an idea for a research project, and start gathering information and sources to conduct your research. If you are an aspiring engineer, I’d expect to see a certain degree of passion there, such as engineering projects or fair amount of involvement in robotics, maths, or physics contests and olympiads.
3) Significance
Whether you want it or no, points of excellence (POE) matter. What is something that distinguishes you from others? For some, it’s sports, where they are a part of a big national association. For others, it’s international olympiads where they secure worthy places. But there should be something - most preferably significant and inspirational - that you can proudly talk about, both in your Extra-Curricular Activities section and essays.
There’s much more that goes into ECs - common rules. But this is enough for now :).

Fake Dopamine:
Let me be honest with you.
Most people our age are wasting their prime. Clubs, social media, gaming, endless music playlists — they’re chasing dopamine hits that feel good for a second, but leave you empty. And I get it — it’s tempting. But that “feel good” is fake. It’s the kind of dopamine that’s easy to get, but it robs you of your ability to feel real joy later. You don’t want to burn out your reward system chasing things that don’t give you anything back.
Here’s a crazy stat: the average young adult now spends over 7 hours a day on screens, most of that on social media and entertainment. That’s nearly 50 hours a week — more than a full-time job — just spent scrolling, watching, reacting. And what do we get in return? Anxiety, comparison, mental fog, and the illusion of productivity.
The truth is, this is your window. While others are distracted, this is the best time to work — because almost no one is. You can lap the competition just by being consistent. You don’t have to be a genius. You just have to be focused. Build. Learn. Create. Train. Think. Read. Whatever moves you forward — do more of that.
You see, fake dopamine is like a loan with crazy interest. You get the pleasure now, but you’re borrowing from your future clarity, ambition, and peace. And I promise, that debt always comes due.
So be different. Protect your mind. Delay gratification. Not because it's easy, but because it’s rare — and rare is valuable. You’ll thank yourself a year from now. While others are catching up, you’ll already be ahead.
Let them party. Let them scroll. You? You work in silence. The results will speak.

While I was tutoring, one of the students asked me “what’s audit”?
I put it simply. I said “it’s going and investigating places, doubting its owners integrity at all times, and stressing them out for no reason”.
She said “now I understand it”
🙂🙂🙂

What I noticed is how talented Uzbek students are, generally. And when I say it, I mean it.
Well, SAT doesn’t measure talent, but it tells a lot about someone’s academic aptitude and willingness to sit and focus.
1500s have become something usual. We have a lot of them already, many more coming.
In the US, SAT is no small feat. When I say it, I mean it. Even for people native to this land, who usually go through rigorous sciences and social sciences programs in high schools, SAT is a struggle.
I guess that’s the reason why private SAT tutors here, from what I heard, charge at least $50 per hour, and up to $200 depending on their expertise.
You all are doing a very amazing job, and even if you score 1250, you shouldn’t be too disappointed!

You can get to know a person by just looking at where he spends most of his time. The chaos reflects the confused web in the mind that can’t be easily untangled, while a clean space reflects the mind free of excessive thinking.

Watching a documentary on Netflix, College Admissions Scandal.
Will write a reflection on it soon!
It basically is an investigation of the mastermind behind a scam to get the kids of rich and famous families into top US universities!
