NEW: After years of secrecy, Dr. Bhattacharya just made the promise Americans have been waiting for: full Covid transparency.
The NIH Director vowed to open the floodgates:
“That’s exactly what I’m doing at the NIH,” he said.
“I have gotten congressional subpoenas for all of the documents at the NIH that are related to Covid-19.”
“I’m complying with every single one.”
Every document. Every memo. Every internal discussion leading up to the pandemic—he says it’s all being turned over.
“We are going to have, at least from the American side, all the things that we knew and were talking about—the U.S. Government was talking about at the time and in the years running up to the pandemic.”
But transparency only works if both sides cooperate.
And China won’t.
“The problem is that the Chinese government won't give those same things to us,” Bhattacharya said.
“For instance, the NIH tried to get the lab notebooks from the Wuhan experimenters and they wouldn't share that lab notebook with us.”
