SUSSAN LEY BECOMES LIBERAL PARTY LEADER
But what's with the extra 's' in the spelling of Sussan..? 🤔

The 63-year-old former deputy leader, who was backed by the moderate faction, received 29 partyroom votes compared to treasury spokesperson Mr Taylor's 25, multiple sources told the ABC.

"The biggest hurdle was overcoming the common law right to peaceful protest."
Yes, that little thing called common law is quite the "hurdle."
Great coverage here for Stuart Chapman and the Umbrella People, about a Right to Protest issue that has bubbled away for years outside WA's Government House. We can only wonder if they would be treated the same if they were left-wing protestors.
Also, "umbrella-wielding silent protesters" is a curious turn of phrase for WAtoday to use. "Umbrella holding" sounds a little less confronting, and a lot more accurate.
One could also describe them as sun smart 😎

Big dollar vote buying in lower house electorates, making a mockery of the political label "independent."
Near the top of the Climate 200 donations list is Alex Dyson, who's quoted as saying:
How do these Teals campaign with a straight face. They are the new Wolf in Sheep's Clothing in Australian politics. Preference the Teal candidate below Labor if there's one contesting your electorate, they are a scourge on our democracy and would be a nightmare in a minority Government.

I found the murkiness of politics really, really disturbing. It's one of the reasons I really wanted to run. I want to be the change that I want to see in politics.

Almost 2,000 ballot papers went missing on election night and were later recovered from the Sydney home of a temporary Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) worker, the ABC can reveal.
While the AEC said the incident did not affect the result in the seat of Barton because the votes had already been counted, it has not explained how the ballots ended up at the worker's home and has launched an investigation.

What does success look like for the freedom movement tomorrow? 🇦🇺
In short. You will not see it until the senate count comes in which will take about a month to occur.
However, tomorrow night I am expecting a Minority Labor win in the Lower house with the Greens & Teals controlling the cross-bench.
That means that in order for Albanese to pass any legislation from the lower house he will need the support of the Greens and/or the Teals.
This will make legislation even more radical and would be devastating for the nation.
Salvation for the freedom movement this election lies in the upper house, the Senate.
In order for us to achieve the balance of power in the senate a few things need to occur:
Each state has 6 senators up for grabs. In each state we need at least 3 ‘right wing senators elected (it could be 2 Liberal/National + 1 Freedom Party or 3 Liberal Party)
In the NT there are 2 senators up for grabs. We need at least 1 Liberal (Jacinta Price) or a freedom party up.
CRITICAL: In the ACT there are 2 senators up for grabs. We need at least 1 liberal or a freedom party up.
Note on Tasmania: We need a Freedom Party or the liberals to beat Jacqui Lambie. The final outcome we need down there is either 2 liberals and a freedom party, or 3 liberals.
The balance of power is a fickle thing. It’s a bit like a seesaw. We could hold it with as little as one senator or it may require us to have 8 senators. It all depends on how many are on the left and the right. We need to control the middle so nothing passes without our senators up.
By the way you can count Senator Antic in that number who is guaranteed to get up for the liberals in SA.
So tomorrow night will be rough, the result won’t be surprising which is what we’ve been predicting on the show since Oct 2024.
But let’s see how the senate pans out over the next month which I will keep you updated on here.
If nothing else, it’s been a pleasure serving you thing election 🙏
PS. In the lower house I expect Bob Katter to win again of course in Kennedy. Also keep an eye on the Hunter tomorrow night because I expect One Nation will win that with Stuart Bonds 🔥

You wouldn't guess it from the media, but the election isn't over yet as counting for the Senate races across the country continues with around 49% of the vote left.
So, how did One Nation actually go? Full wrap up here:
