It's not at all impossible that sacred space among the earliest Indo-European peoples looked like this. A clearly marked out rectangular space – perhaps with hemp rope – a main square fire altar, a round altar representing the domestic, a bowl of water for purification before ritual and a dug out little pit to offer to the ancestors and land spirits. P.s. Based on what we know & also based on the sources and customs of the slightly later IE peoples most likely the altars would've also been strewn with grass, since the altar was both for offerings and to offer the deity a seat.
