🇱🇧 Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam:
• “The issue of Lebanese missing in Syrian prisons will be a key topic during my visit to Damascus tomorrow. I hope to return with good news about them.”
• “The government has done everything in its power to address this, using all available diplomatic and political efforts to end the Israeli occupation. The areas “Israel” still controls no longer serve any security, military, or strategic purpose. With modern technology like satellites, drones, and surveillance networks, “Israel” doesn’t need to position itself on hilltops to monitor the situation.”
• “Some people have misused banking secrecy for illegal activities like money laundering and drug trafficking.”
• “The main part of the banking reform law is the annex, which sets out the order in which funds will be returned, starting with small deposits, followed by those for social security, pension funds, and then other deposits.”
• “We need to rebuild the Lebanese people’s trust and support the reform process. It’s time to work together to rebuild our state, as it’s the only institution capable of protecting us through its army and restoring trust between the people and the government.”
