one of the greatest ways to motivate humans is shame.

many fall victim in the face of shame.

but there is a specific type of shame that can give you endless energy.

it's when that shame comes from a healthy perspective. most feedback i gave on essays were "it's weak, i think you will get rejected"

90% take it negatively, and sometimes even start thinking i'm a bad guy.

but there is a tiny minority who accept the harsh reality and make the best of it.

one challenge i did during the essay program was "make us laugh," where students had to prepare for 2 days and present their funniest personal moment in life. i'll be honest: ALL of the students had great sense of humor.

but NONE of them managed to make us all laugh.

why? because it's a different game when you interact with people for lots of time and make them laugh when a joke instantly comes to mind compared to when you have to make ONE joke.

throughout 20+ lessons, all students at various points made us all laugh, but when it actually mattered, they couldn't.

the same happens in your application: don't get upset you got rejected because it is the version of you that they evaluated, not you.

what you have to do in your application is to present the version of you that best represents you. as an engineer, economist, humble, interesting, and passionate!

you can assume your joke will make everyone laugh, but it's only after testing on multiple people that you can be assured it's funny. thus, don't be arrogant! humble yourself and get your essays & application checked by someone!

love is💘

Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact. And that is everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it-you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use.

around 10 people informed me they didn't receive the link after completing the survey.

please, read my message with care. i explicitly stated in dms to send me a proof of completion to get the link.

thanks,

how would you define success?

for me, it's mostly about moving in the right direction, exponential growth that necessarily includes years of work without any results but more time of "acceleration" that makes your life so enjoyable.

contentment and self-moderation which puts due importance to means rather than solely ends. i want to achieve exceptional results, and i am ready to put exceptional effort, but does not justify the possible deception, atrocities, and cruelty i may commit. ends is justified higher than means only if it is a required component of my life mission.

some people say don't plan for more than 5 years, but i think its better to plan from the end point. you notice: old people give away a lot. not because they suddenly became good. no. its rather that they realize death is no longer an abstract concept. death becomes an inevitable appointment. feeling they are not taking their wealth and power do they start giving away. i suppose you don't need to grow old to realize the inescapability of death, and if you plan from your death point to what you plan to do tomorrow, its easier.

put more bluntly, a day before your death, if you had to watch an autobiographical documentary, what would like to see yourself having done? what would you like yourself to have looked like? what kind of people kind of people would you like to see yourself having hanged around? what kind of wars and battles would you like to see yourself have overcome? i believe if you can visualize that and bring those ideals into action from day 1, that is success.

at the beginning of the first match, i was wrestling with a black belt, and i got my hand wrenched.

it was very painful. my mind immediately raced to inform the news and that i couldn't continue.

but my gut suspended the decision and asked my brain to think.

"it's painful, yes, but who cares?" said my gut to my brain.

i lost sense of my right hand for the first 3-4 throws my opponent tried on me.

it was too late to say "let's stop."

so i kept pushing. the whole match ended with a draw, but the result doesn't matter.

there are points in your life, there are some goals you have where giving up cannot be an option.

when i took my gap year, i could never possibly conceive myself studying at wiut. not a single moment worthy of consideration!

and even now, if i carefully and objectively analyze my situation, i am in a total mess, and my mind, seeing all this chaos, sometimes wants to cry.

but drops of tear never come out. because i just can't allow. i look for my alternate version. so should you:

there is a version of you who never gives in for temptations: parties and social media,
who never gives into his feelings, acts how she's supposed to act, approaches people, girls, and important individuals without hesitation,
who studies without distraction,
who builds projects without procrastination,
who risks without cowardice,
who never sleeps in the morning,

that version is waiting.

imagine: what could your life look like in just one year if you lived like that?
i got rejected from an internship 😭
I learned to walk; since then have I let myself run. I learned to fly; since then I do not need pushing in order to move from a spot

last chance to join.

you will be learning the key insights essay program students paid 1 thousand dollars to learn. for context, 88% or 8 out of 9 students in the essay program got into one or more top universities with at least full tuition scholarship, mostly full-ride. HKU (#17 in the world), Carnegie Mellon Qatar (#1 in AI and #2 in biz analytics in the US), Georgetown Qatar (#14 in the world for politics), Amherst (#2 in the US for Liberal Arts), PolyUHK (#57 in the world), NYU AD (#32 in the world), and more. this is admssions heritage. this means what i teach works.

and i promised myself i won't share essay program material for free or even for small lessons ever again.

this is your last chance to get an insider perspective about my teaching metholodogy. for 30$ or free if you complete a 10-minute survey.

Do less of q&a’s and post something controversial if you want it to be active

i dont seek controversy or drama

What does money mean to you? How do you describe it?

during the lesson, i will teach the techniques we used for essays of my student from a presidential school who got into carnegie mellon qatar and georgetown qatar (both have less than 5 acceptance rate).

we put special effort to making sure jaxongir does not come off as just another student who struggled at PS. all PS students have their personal struggles, ambition, and vision, and their problem is more about having the unique reflection on their PS than them not having anything unique to say. if you want to learn how to use that PS background, its especially meaningful to join the lesson.

happening on saturday evening btw.

Good part of the day everyone!

We are working on a documentary film and research paper associated with University of Toronto x Columbia University about Uzbekistan and youth between May 15 to June 7.

I need 15-20 people to conduct interviews in different parts of Uzbekistan, no matter in what language and in what region of Uzbekistan. Only thing I incapable of doing is I cannot work with anyone under 15 years old according ethical rules that we were given by both universities.

I need people in different sectors:

1. Young people—any one of you guys are more than welcome to be part of our project if you want to.
2. School administrators in both public and private sectors
3. People who work in government sector for more than 5 years.
4. Students who got into Top universities or are studying right now at certain university
5. Anyone that we will be good example to represent an Uzbekistan citizen to the world.
6. People who can help with logistical issues in different parts of Uzbekistan, including Tashkent and Tashkent region.

If anyone has contacts with such people or willing to take part in themselves are welcome to reach me out at @diyorbeknomozovv ; just one reminder that your message has to include brief information about yourself or person you are suggesting and how can you help us with research.

We can provide certificates and letters of appreciation by University of Toronto and Columbia University for anyone who will be helping us during our research.
my research paper was about cbdc taking over traditional financial systems

i ended up not publishing nor showing to anyone, but i predicted how soon more and more countries would adopt this infrastructure.

kazakhstan and kyrgyzstan already did. next is us. then you will see the whole world.

almost all universities i applied for at the time had advanced and unique programs going on related to CBDC. and my essays mostly touched this and how the uni had a special program that can help me study my topic of interest.

and that's what i subjectively define as "fit" between u and college: you having specific academic interest and a uni having big offerings and being the best in that subdomain.

btw, you still can join the lesson on writing essays by leaving "lesson" to @levshamain.
