The Crownless One

Darkness.
Up was down. Blood was still.
Space was meaningless.
Time flowed through his veins.
Out.

Blindness.
Crucified betwitxt life and death.
Ruler overruled on an empty throne.
Such was fate served:
Death.

His life was feeding them,
Feast of a king,
Feasting on his flesh.
Time passed through him.
Stopped.

Cruelty.
On skin – in bones – it crawled.
Slow as glacier his time is spent.
An eternity lost to feed the soul-
-Less.

Less than a beggar.
He who once defied his clan.
Bound in living flesh to serve
The sentence of the betrayers.

Betrayed,
The damned cannot be:
To betray is to be once devoted.
Of devotion there is
None.

No devotion for the lost,
No salvation for the dying.

For love he lost himself.
In blindness he sank.
In darkness he hangs
On the thread of a living death.

One foot in the realm of the Nine Kings.
One foot in the realm of Damned.
Heaven’s smile was a painted one,
Hiding blistering contempt.

In shadows the demon lord awaits.

For time to run out.
For space to break.
For nothingness to erupt.
For his blood to feed the horror.

He would never see its reign.
He would never see the sun again.

Taste no sweetness.
Feel no heartache.
Smell no fear.
Touch no heart.

His time.
Ran.
Out.
