Shrove Tuesday ~ The Feast of the HOLY FACE of JESUS
LORD Jesus Christ, Whose most holy Face, hidden in the Passion, shines in its power as the sun, grant, we beseech Thee, so that, sharing in Thy passion on earth, we may be able to rejoice in the revelation of Thy glory in heaven.
Who livest and reignest, with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
DÓMINE Jesu Christe, cujus sacratíssimus Vultus, in passióne abscónditus, sicut sol in sua virtúte relúcet: concéde propítius; ut tuis passiónibus communicántes in terris, in revelatióne gloriæ tuae gaudére valeámus in caelis.
Qui vivis et regnas, cum Deo Patre in unitate Spíritus Sancti, Deus, per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

Nehemiah 4:13-14
Fight for your brother, fight for your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses
1 Timothy 5:8
But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever
Psalm 144:1
“Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.”
Turning the other cheek is about being merciful and forgiving to our personal enemies so that we do not live in a constant state of feuding with our kin and neighbors. It doesn’t mean that we don’t protect our families or our communities.
It was under a common Christian religion that we enjoyed the most unity we ever had, it was after we began to abandon it in the 60s that we started importing nonwhites.
Our destruction correlates with our abandoning of Christ, not with our acceptance of Him

Dr. David Allen White the Shakespeare expert and biographer of Bp Williamson and Bp Antonio de Castro Mayer has passed away yesterday from his battle with cancer.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

I attended a specialist today but was told that the assessment I needed was no longer available due to costs and shortages. While middle class leftists can virtue signal about mass immigration there are always consequences for others. Now, I'll be ok, but imagine the elderly, parents with children with disabilities, and various cancer treatments or facilities/equipment that are struggling for funding. The hierarchy in Ireland neglected to mention these real life issues and consequences for those with more shallow pockets. Sadly, this is the result largely of a pandemic of narcissism where all the attention is aimed at the superficial 'goodwill' of the virtual signaller. We saw this on Irish television where a foreigner to the country smirked as she was given free housing, sat beside a native woman who was homeless. As Catholics we are to live our lives recognizing the dignity of all human beings but it doesn't follow that we behave like doormats to abuse. Amoris ordo is a real principle, just ask any parent.

On its face, this is good news. We wait and see. We are looking forward to seeing how the White House interacts with the pathetic woke Irish politicians come St Patrick's day.

TO THEE, O BLESSED JOSEPH
TO thee, O blessed Joseph, do we have recourse in our tribulation, and, having implored the help of thy thrice-holy Spouse, we confidently invoke thy patronage also. By that charity wherewith thou wast united to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God, and by that fatherly affection with which thou didst embrace the Child Jesus, we beseech thee and we humbly pray, that thou wouldst look graciously upon the inheritance which Jesus Christ hath purchased by His Blood, and assist us in our needs by thy power and strength. Most watchful guardian of the Holy Family, protect the chosen people of Jesus Christ; keep far from us, most loving father, all blight of error and corruption: mercifully assist us from heaven, most mighty defender, in this our conflict with the powers of darkness; and, even as of old thou didst rescue the Child Jesus from the supreme peril of His life, so now defend God’s holy Church from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity; keep us one and all under thy continual protection, that we may be supported by thine example and thine assistance, may be enabled to lead a holy life, die a happy death and come at last to the possession of everlasting blessedness in heaven.
Amen.
An indulgence of 3 years.
An indulgence of 7 years during the month of October, when said after the recitation of the Rosary.
A plenary indulgence once a month, on the usual conditions, for the daily recitation of this prayer (Leo XIII, Encyclical Aug. 15, 1889; S. C. Ind., Sept. 21, 1889; S. P. Ap., May 17, 1927 and Dec. 13, 1935).

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. In 1835 Irish Carmelite preacher John Spratt visited Rome. He received many tokens of appreciation, among them the remains of martyred St. Valentine, offered by Pope Grégory XVI. The remains arrived at Whitefriar Street Church, Dublin, a year later.
