The Three Pillars of Religions
This theory postulates three essential pillars describing any religion: relation to the outside world, relation to oneself and relation to the existence itself.
For example, for Christianity the outside world is God's creation, oneself is God's child possessing free will and the purpose of existence is God-given challenge to ascend to the heaven by following certain rules.
For Buddhism the outside world is a mortal prison, oneself is a prisoner held by desires and suffering and the purpose of existence is to break free from this prison.
For European paganism outside world is an eternal realm populated by gods and spirits, oneself is just another mortal and the purpose of existence is to honor the gods and ancestors by living a glorious life.
