Trump announces 25% tariffs on automotive imports, vows "business will flourish"
President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will place a 25% tariff on automobile imports into the US, which is set to take effect on April 2nd.
I'm so sorry, Anakin, I must come back to the tariff conversation. The only thing that will secure a "flourishing business" long term is competitiveness. That's it. You can tariff stuff, you can artificially lower prices, you can cry about it, but at the end of the day, unless the domestic cars are competitive, it'll only hurt the domestic production long term. I've spoken about our cars before - they're shit. I'm sorry if there are any Ford enjoyers out there, but they suck. Maybe this will boost some sales in some areas short term, but long term this will only hurt us. Companies will find a way around this, even in comparison with domestic brands, sooner or later. Then what? More tariffs? Just make good cars, FFS!

Appeals court won't pause ruling that forced US to reinstate federal workers
A US appeals court on Wednesday refused to pause a judge's ruling requiring the administration of President Donald Trump to reinstate more than 17,000 workers at six agencies who lost their jobs as part of Trump's purge of the federal workforce.
A 2-1 panel of the San Francisco based 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals said the Trump administration had failed to establish a federal judge erred by finding that agencies likely could not fire workers at the direction of the US Office of Personnel Management, the human resources department for the federal government.
Speaking to the MAGA crowd now, why are you guys against Trump becoming a dictator? You can even make memes about him being a Consul then or something. Emboldened Trump signals long court fight to expand power
Donald Trump has ramped up his fight with the judiciary as he racks up losses in court over his administration's efforts to reshape the US government and its approach on everything from immigration to federal spending.
Two months into his term, Trump is already fighting more than 150 lawsuits challenging his executive actions, based on a Bloomberg News review of filings in federal courts. Judges across the US are frequently ruling against the administration and in some cases signaling the president may have exceeded his power to act without the approval of Congress.
This will be his entire presidency - litigations. Litigations and war crimes. Just like the first time. His primary role, however, is to reorganize and streamline the empire, as well as outsource some of its military confrontations to our "allies," so we can concentrate on other fronts.
