So, how do we go about healing the body, restoring health & once achieved, maintaining our health?
The answer is simple, so simple that most people (due to our affinity towards over complication due to our programming) wouldn’t believe it. The answer is what most people consider too extreme, time consuming, and difficult for consistency & discipline is half the equation.
We must eat and live in accordance with our species' appropriate diet - as all other species do without question or protest. Our species is greatly confused as to what our appropriate diet looks like and we are highly addicted to fried foods, salty foods & foods that do not serve the body - foods that build disease issues.
Wouldn’t it be nice to be free of these addictions? To be able to sit next to someone eating pizza and to just not want it because it doesn’t serve your body or health?
For health to result, we must live in a healthful way and health cannot be achieved through dietary changes alone, it is all the pillars of health that we must pay attention to for true health because they all work synergistically and collectively together to produce our overall health. What we do today - is part of tomorrow. All the healthy aspects are important. So what else aside from diet should we pay attention to so that we can achieve long term healthy results for ourselves?
Natural Hygiene teaches about all the important aspects for healthy living . Im not going to share all 9 points here, but we teach information like this in our Natural Diet support group daily. Here are a few though;
#1 is the food! Without supplying the body with the correct fuel, how can we expect healthy results? We want to ideally eat our food raw focussing on fresh fruits, tender vegetables, leafy greens, nuts and seeds. It’s important to learn proper food combining and to eat each meal until comfortably satisfied. We should chew our food well and ideally eat food that is room temperature. Learn to listen to your body’s hunger / fullness cues, eat only when hungry, feeling joyous and relaxed, we do not want to eat when we are upset, angry, or feeling emotional, the body will not digest/assimilate/eliminate/utilize it optimally .
#2 is water! Water is life, we must have access to clean, healthy, abundant water! Distilled is ideal. We do not want to drink at mealtime, and we do not want to drink our water too cold, room temperature is ideal.
#4 is rest! We put such an emphasis on rest because we live in a fast paced society that doesn’t accommodate rest. Our nerve energy becomes depleted through our unnatural lifestyles and choices that deplete our nerve energy so to compensate we require rest more than ever. With rest, the body can repair and restore itself more efficiently. Listen to the body, you likely need rest more than anything if you feel insatiable cravings, fatigued, stressed or exhausted. Close your eyes each day around midday if possible, take moments for yourself whenever possible.
#9 is purpose and well being . We must have goals, hopes, dreams, aspirations and feel joyous and excited about life! I believe that paying attention to all pillars of health brings about emotional wellbeing, and things that once seemed like a chore become more enjoyable to do when we are in good health. Purpose becomes more of a focal point as we remove our attachments to food. Most people use food as an outlet, but as we clean up our diet, we learn to live in the present and to pay attention to the details in life that we once overlooked. Listen to your mind, tell negative emotions that you do not identify with them. They will pass, allow them to pass, while recognizing them for what they are knowing that feeling them is part of the process for moving on. We often experience negative emotions or thoughts when toxins are passing through for elimination, it’s okay to go through them.
Discipline : through exercising discipline in our lives we reap great rewards. We benefit greatly when we become more in control of what we put into our body combined with other aspects.
