It is profane to offer meat to the Gods that has been slaughtered and blessed under the Kosher and Halal laws, as these are ritual slaughtering methods which include prayers to dedicate the animal to a foreign god.
If you are going to offer meat, find a farm that does it without such methods — or raise it and slaughter it yourself.

I'll be brief as STEM and art (my being both a computer engineer and an artist) are professional career subjects I have actual skin in the game on.
Yes, art is from the soul. No, AI art is not sufficient in replacing that.
With this in mind: Kneejerk reactions against AI technology as a whole, solely due to shitty AI art propagation, is just regressive.
Language model AI is a POWERFUL tool; use it for how it benefits your needs.
If Pagans want to win, we need to start playing the game on the bleeding edge of scientific and technological breakthrough.
Like every Pagan civilization has always done.
The Cult of Wōden WILL conquer the known galaxy. Get out of the way or pick up a fecking laser gun.

What Is FAFP?
What Is FAFP?
From Across the Fire Pit (FAFP) is a joint creative venture between writer and poet Edward England, and the Order of the Sacred Mannerbunde.
The purpose of the project is to share poetry, specifically made by England and members of the OSM, in both written and spoken format.
It is the belief of England that something is missed when poetry is simply read off the page, and in order to truly experience the depth of the furor poeticus, poetry must be spoken and heard.
A presence approaches from across the fire pit…

To continue...
Having a family tree that extends beyond the 18th and 19th centuries helps to establish a sense of continuity back into prehistory, because we garner a sense of where we would be in any given generation. Some modern Pagans choose to ignore their entire heritage from the Middle Ages simply because they don't have a family tree. It's easier to identify with projected, mysterious Pagan ancestors than it is with Christian ancestors from the Middle Ages if one lacks a family tree.
However, if you know your real ancestors—your family lineage from the 1800s going back to the 1500s, 1400s, 1300s, and earlier—you know yourself. It is perfectly acceptable to identify with our culture and ancestors from the colonial era, the medieval era, or the Victorian era and still be a Pagan. It is perfectly acceptable to practice the habits and customs, and to take a liking to our ancestors from any century, and still be a Pagan. For context, historical Germanic Pagans depicted the Gods in the cultural context of their day and were—for the most part—men and women of their time. They were completely connected to their ancestral heritage, knew their ancestors, and had established forms of worship without having to think about it—whereas today, many people don't have that. This is why it is so important to formulate these things.
A notable example comes from Adam of Bremen's 11th-century Gesta Hammaburgensis Ecclesiae Pontificum. In it, Bremen describes the way in which the idols of the Gods were adorned at the temple at Uppsala. Óðinn is described as wearing armour and wielding weapons (which Bremen likens to portrayals of Mars). This shows that historical Pagan Swedes depicted the Gods in armour and with weapons that were modern to them in their day. The same is true for the Lindby idol of Óðinn, the Rällinge statuette of Freyr, and the Eyrarland statuette of Þórr, all of which show the Gods wearing a conical hat that was common across Scandinavia in the Viking Age.
Rather than viewing our history as "Paganism -> gap -> revivalism," we should be viewing our history as a continuum. The Gods have always existed, and the functional structure and nature of the universe has not changed. Objective reality (i.e., that the Gods exist) does not—and therefore has not—changed due to shifts in consensus or changes in cultural context. We should strive to live in the now and cultivate the revitalisation of Paganism: enjoy and appreciate all of our history and all of our ancestors; use the sources on Germanic Paganism as a framework to establish our own authentic forms of worship; form real groups; and revitalise our worship of the Gods and the veneration of our ancestors.

Your fate is woven,
Your life-thread is spun.
Your wyrd is a song-
That will now be sung.
By Urd, who knows;
How your path begun.
By Verðandi, who chooses;
How your worth is won.
By Skuld who decides,
How your death will come.

He was a wonderful father and the best partner I could've asked for.
We lost him about a year and a half ago and I miss him every single day. This portrait wasn't easy to get through, but the process has been healing nonetheless. ❤️🩹

Dan Capp makes some fair critiques here on contextualising victory; what parameters do we set on winning, and to what extent do we pursue it?
Winning, as used here, is not a case of spreading Paganism (in any variant - mine or otherwise) to the far corners of the globe. It's not a drive for evangelism, or the subletting of our Pagan ethics for short-term material gains. It is certainly not the tearing away from our Gods to worship thursar and other manifestations of entropy.
It is survival. It is about diversifying the options that Pagans have in an ever-shifting world. We have a responsibility of care to promote good - for our faith-community and our Folk—instead of retreating from it. What is the purpose of practicing an ethnic faith if you do not put the success of your own people at the forefront of your beliefs?
Just as the Gods sat in their holy halls, they too engaged with the world beyond their walls. Their representation was as much a point of technology as it was of art and culture. Writing and literacy, garments and the spinning wheel, iron and the forge - these all have dangers or issues in isolation when not used by those with the will to master their craft.
It is the will to learn that informs our safety, not an embrace of ignorance.
It is why our forefathers did learn to write; why we have the Runes, rune-stones, and the records of their great deeds. Without writing, we would not have the accounts of the Eddas, nor the Sagas, nor any of the other insightful records that we can study as modern Pagans. It is a little alarming to hear somebody who writes so fluidly deride writing as anything but a great good for our people.
I don't view our forefathers as inferior - nor any who do not adopt technology. It's just an inevitability that, with the march of time, cultures that do not engage with emergent technology will wither and die, or become obsolete. If our forefathers had done so, they may have never been Christianised - as a train of thought.
Culture is - fundamentally - one of the most vital components of religiosity, and not something that is sacrificed in order to win. Neither should we put away our spirituality, nor philosophy, nor any manifestation of the Folk's well-being, for a pursuit of success in the abstract.
Home is where the heart is, after all.
I am political - as are you, Dan - and we are both "self-appointed religious people." Everybody is political, to some degree or another, unless they are comatose. You can ignore this fact; negotiate down its definitions or extent, but indicating that my view is purely political, and not at all spiritual, is fundamentally ahistorical. Politics and religion acted together in ancient Germanic societies, as they do in any society.
I wish you well - as I do all who want to embrace an innawood mindset. I'm equally always available to discuss technology if you ever want to get a firmer grasp on STEM as a field. I am certain an exchange of ideas on a personal basis would benefit us both.
Gods bless. 🙏

Qualities of Leadership
In our modern day, the role of a leader is often misunderstood by those who lack true leadership qualities. Leaders are meant to inspire others through example. They carry themselves with dignity, professionalism, and respect, while conducting themselves with honor. This honor is not something to be taken for granted—it is a gift, placed upon the leader by the greater community in recognition of their behavior, values, and interactions.
True leadership gains influence through action, not authority. Among the top qualities of a good leader, you will commonly find:
Honor – Adherence to what is right and to a standard of moral conduct.
Communication – The ability to reach and inspire others through dialogue and other forms of expression.
Vision – Having a realistic and achievable plan for the future.
Respect – A positive feeling that demonstrates high regard for others. This must both be earned from the community and shown toward it.
Accountability – The ability to accept responsibility when things go wrong.
Strength – The capacity to maintain composure under stress and pressure.
These qualities represent the conduct that makes a leader worth following. While many more attributes could be added to this list, the importance of these virtues cannot be overstated. A leader is meant to be the best example among us all—and even when we fall short, we should always strive to grow into the best leaders we can be.

Martin Luther said the printing press would destroy society.
I'm sure the same thing has been said about the combustion engine and electricity.
It's the threat of the unknown ahead.
But it's worth noting that people who have braved the unknown have founded nations.

Folk Futurism
Imagine rendering both immigration and industrial farming obsolete. Every community could have full caloric independence without having to cut corners on nutrition or use nasty chemicals.
Organic vertical farming, aeroponics, all grown next door in great abundance. No more processed slop.
Now it costs millions to run a farm.
With many of their systems automated and staffed by AI and robotics, it would be a fraction of the cost and be far more environmentally ethical.
A handful of men could do the work of hundreds.
