While early fluoride exposure lowered rates of tooth decay, RFK Jr. made it clear the tradeoff is unacceptable: “No child should sacrifice brain development for a cavity.”
Kennedy’s stance is reinforced by a recent federal ruling from Judge Edward Chen, who concluded that fluoride exposure poses a real threat to health and ordered the EPA to act. His ruling cited scientific literature with a “high level of certainty” that fluoride reduces IQ in children. Weeks earlier, the National Toxicology Program echoed this conclusion, confirming that even common fluoride levels (1.5 mg/L) are “consistently associated” with cognitive decline.
