Legionnaire

Always look him straight in the eye. Eyes do not lie!
When you speak and when you write, you must be brief, clear and precise. Long and deceptive conversations are the charlatanry of democracy. Dress modestly. He will despise luxury, which he will consider based on a spiritual inclination to dishonesty. A man who is a lover of luxury today, if not a thief, belongs to one of the various categories of scoundrels, in any case, such a man is a man without feelings who mocks the endless misery of the country.

Cornelius Zelea Codreanu
"If making the idea of order triumph means Fascism, then, yes, I am a Fascist. If taking the commandments of the national idea to the extreme limit means Hitlerism, then, yes, I am a Hitlerist."

Octavian Goga, 1936
"Today's war is an act of historical reparation. The rights of a nation do not lie in obsolete crowns, nor in historical titles found in archives or libraries, nor in treaties won through games of political balance, through fairs or international donations. Rather, it is the right of a nation to everything that its power and its soul of justice are able to encompass and preserve... On the land of the Bessarabians and beyond the Dniester, as everywhere where the Romanian heart beats, there are (are n.a.) rights and our life and nothing in the world will stop us from gathering it where God and the earth have given it, and the centuries have not been able to extinguish it... The fight for the lands of Moldavia is the fight for the life of the Romanian people and victory is an act of high historical reparation".

Mihai Antonescu

“We were born here, we are the first here and we will be the last to leave.”

Marshal Ion Antonescu
"A.C. Cuza from Romania should actually have a statue erected, for it is truly extraordinary how this man, despite his advanced age, still fights today against the global danger of Judaism" Julius Streicher at the National Socialist Congress in Nuremberg in 1937

"Prof. A.C. Cuza Praised at the Nuremberg Congress", in Apărarea Naţională, no. 38 of September 21, 1937, p. 4.
"We will not allow oligarchic tyrants, under the guise of patriotism, to put themselves by the workers' necks and literally tear them apart, while at the same time boasting of the symbols of the Fatherland - which they do not love; of God - in Whom they do not believe; of the Church - which they have never even entered; and of the Army - which they send to war empty-handed. These are things that must not be used as false emblems in the hands of immoral people for the purpose of political fraud."

"We will kill the world within ourselves, in order to build another that reaches to the heavens."

Cornelius Codreanu
Rows come, hordes are forming
From the age-old lava,
From hour to hour, from moment to moment,
My great army is still growing.
I see them swarming everywhere,
They demand their late justice,
And each one wants his own piece
To be judged.

More and more of them are rising from the pit,
They rise, and in my mind they are driven away,
Poor peasants are coming, toiled by the hoe,
And outlaws are coming with long rifles.

Octavian Goga
"All of Professor Cuza's writings were read, not once, but three or four times, and studied. Especially his courses on political economy, which brilliantly treated the Jewish question from the height of his chair, calling Romanians to understand their most serious current problem, were our guide at every moment in our efforts to understand it."

Art. 2. The Legionary Movement is the only movement recognized in the new state, aiming at the moral and material upliftment of the Romanian people and the development of its creative powers.
Art. 3. General Ion Antonescu is the leader of the legionary state and the head of the legionary regime.
Art. 4. Mr. Horia Sima is the leader of the Legionary Movement.
Art. 5. Starting from the date of this High Decree, any fight between brothers ceases.
"Official Gazette", no. 214 bis, of September 14, 1940
"Foreign elements, aged and barren, have mixed themselves into our people and are playing the comedy of patriotism and nationalism. Having no traditions, a definite homeland or a definite nationality, they have nevertheless laid hands on the Romanian state. The consciousness that they are distinct from the Romanian nation has not yet disappeared from them – they see themselves as a victorious army in an enemy country. Therefore, it is not surprising that our entire newer development has not had in mind the preservation of nationality, but the realization of a series of liberal and egalitarian cosmopolitan ideas."

Mihai Eminescu in the newspaper "Timpul" (November 14, 1880)
Sânnicolau Mare, 10.XII.1933
Romanian nationalists near the bust of Mihai Eminescu, the first statue erected to the great poet in Greater Romania (statue cast in bronze and inaugurated on October 11, 1925), saluting with their right arm extended to the sky.

In the center, another great poet, Octavian Goga.
"In the financial and economic field, whenever you have a bank crash, a bankruptcy, you should know that systematically, behind these crimes are Jews. (...) The system is to seize Romanians, to catch Romanians in the bank's nets and then to bankrupt them so that the Christians' money can go into the Jews' pockets. These are tricks that everyone knows. Therefore, we have in our midst a race that tends to destroy us and that tends to seize Romanian territory."

A.C. Cuza, Parliamentary Speeches.
An anecdote about A.C. Cuza, by Vasile Conta.
"Why isn't A.C. Cuza racist? He's so anti-Semitic that he doesn't have time to be racist anymore."

The Jews are our misfortune!
"It's terrible! We, the Romanian people, can no longer bear our fruits? We can't have a Romanian culture, ours, our nation, our blood, that shines in the world alongside the fruits of other nations? We are condemned today to present ourselves to the whole world with products of Jewish essence? Today, at the last moment, when the world is waiting for the Romanian people to appear with the fruit of their blood and national genius, we present ourselves with an infection of Jewish cultural caricature?"

Ion Marii, PRESENT!
MIHAI EMINESCU!

"A very warm heart and a very cold mind are required of a patriot, called to correct his people... The fanaticism of love for the homeland, the fiercest fanaticism does not prevent the mind from remaining cold and from correcting its activity with certainty, from destroying the true cause of evil and uprooting it with iron steadfastness."
The Nicadorii were a group of three legionnaires who, on December 29, 1933, punished by shooting Prime Minister I.G. Duca on the platform of the Sinaia train station for anti-legionnaire acts and treason. The group's name is formed by combining the first syllables of the names of the three members of the group: NIcolae Constantinescu, Ion Caranica and DORu Belimace. Nicolae Constantinescu was an economist by profession, Ion Caranica was also an economist and journalist, and Doru Belimace was a graduate of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Bucharest and a student at the Faculty of Law.

THE NICADORII: Present!
On the night of November 29/30, 1938, the Captain of the Legionary Movement Corneliu Zelea Codreanu was killed, on the orders of the organized international Jewry.
"Those who fell killed (...)
I step in line with those who remained"

CZC: Present!
"We have many points of contact with National Socialism, more than with Fascism. Because we are a movement that goes deep, that wants to empower the whole person, while the Italians are like this - and he raises his arms as if to cheer, expressing in this way the "straw" enthusiasm of the Italians - they are lucky to have someone like Mussolini, but otherwise the people are in a rather weak state. However, we are almost completely compatible with National Socialism."

Horia Sima
"The command of our generation is to experience extreme tension, an exceptional tension of life, a hyperexertion of will and energy, in order to create a new tradition of Romanian existence and elevate this Nation to the rank of great power in Europe.
With violence and extremism let us fulfill our mission of raising the Romanian Nation among the ruling races.
Otherwise, in the midst of a renewed world, our days will pass like those of a generation of guardians of ruins.
And our creed will not win and the Romanian Nation will atone for our wretchedness.
And to our descendants we will leave a legacy that they will curse, because they will endure the bitter humiliations destined for an inferior nation." Alexandru Cantacuzino
Assassinated on the night of September 21-22, 1939 while imprisoned in Râmnicu Sărat, by order of the traitors Armand Călinescu, Prime Minister, Gavrilă Marinescu, Prefect of Police, and Mihail Moruzov, Director of the Secret Intelligence Service.
PRESENT!
"The option for the Eastern Campaign is fully justified. First of all, this war sequence is the most extensive in Romanian military history, in terms of duration, the forces employed, the area of deployment, and the losses suffered. For a country of the size and possibilities of Romania, amputated in 1940, the military effort was impressive. Second, its historiographical status is a special one."
