Tras la muerte de Stalin en 1953, la URSS abandonó la arquitectura imperial y monumental. El nuevo gobierno necesitaba soluciones rápidas para millones de personas sin hogar. Así nació el brutalismo soviético: bloques de hormigón prefabricados, sin adornos, sin identidad. Era arquitectura funcional, sí… pero también ideológica. Cada edificio era una declaración de poder, uniformidad y control social. No se trataba de gustar. Se trataba de imponerse. Y aunque muchos hoy están abandonados, siguen ahí.
