You know, given I live in the middle of freaking Phoenix, it's getting increasingly irritating having my phone & laptop turned into read only bricks for hours & hours, if not days, at a time.
Anyhoo, I've got full internet for a sec so figured I'd share a bit of what's going on since my mom's not doing too well these days.
The eye drops that'd been helping her to see somewhat for the last few months aren't helping anymore. The idea she wanted a cornea transplant vanished when the doc told her they wouldn't know for 12-18mos if it worked or she was blind in that eye. She also recently dropped the notion she was gon go renew her driver's license so there's that.
So, I'm off to grocery shop for my parent's house and my sister & niece's house, too. Adding to the fun is it's usually 3-4 diff grocery stores to cover both.
As for my dad, he's doing okay; however, per my mom, he's not allowed to grocery shop because he wouldn't do it right or some such.

Siblings Johnny Hurtado Olascoaga — also known as El Pez, Pescado, and Mojarra — and Jose Alfredo Hurtado Olascoaga — also known as El Fresa, El Feyo, and La Fruta — both of Guerrero, Mexico, and co-leaders of the La Nueva Familia Michoacana (LNFM) drug cartel, were charged by a federal grand jury seated in the Northern District of Georgia with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl knowing those controlled substances would be imported into the United States, conspiracy to import those controlled substances into the United States, and conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute those controlled substances.
The indictments were returned in September 2024 and recently unsealed.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Justice Department to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).

The United Kingdom’s Supreme Court unanimously ruled Wednesday that transgender women do not fit the legal definition of a “woman” — which is reserved for those born biologically female.
The court’s five judges agreed in the landmark ruling that “the terms ‘woman’ and ‘sex’” under the country’s 2010 Equality Act “refer to a biological woman and biological sex,” Justice Patrick Hodge said.
The ruling “does not remove protection from trans people,” who are “protected from discrimination on the ground of gender reassignment,” the court confirmed — however a transgender person with documentation recognizing them as female should not be considered a woman for equality purposes.
